Never played one but from what others have said a Cornford RK100 might do it for you.
No I had an UL about 5 years ago. I sell alot of Sig X though70strathead":3gtv40l3 said:dude didn't you used to have a Sig X? is that a modern style amp or just another marshall knock off? Those amps have seem to dissapeared from the threads when i remember were gaining lots of attention..including mine
I'll have to check that out when I get home.Capulin Overdrive":192n11ay said:i likes this guys clips, he does pretty good at showcasing the amp.![]()

Cool. I know how it is with NAMM....pretty noisy. I've only heard clips of it so far. None of them were 7 string either.dawnofdreamx97":3p8cpjis said:I'd say it's not as dark as the bogner. Just more unique, It'd be the type of amp i'd use for color in a recording , or together blended with a second amp. It was hard to tell where exactly it was voiced frequency wise, because of all the noise @ namm.. but i thought the elmwood stuff was really cool and unique. Nice guys to!![]()
I haven't looked much at those yet. Greg Howe uses them I think. If he can sound good thru them.....yngzaklynch":4yqkg1ur said:Never played one but from what others have said a Cornford RK100 might do it for you.
i like what I hear from the SLO, don't know how they handle the low tuned stuff.Giga":16hx34ej said:From the amps you mentioned I think definately the SLO; it's the most open sounding, less compressed of the bunch although I have to admit that I only know the Elmwoods from clips.

Elmwood M90
Soldano SLO
Diezel VH4
Diezel Herbert
others?
I've got the Marshall thing pretty much nailed down with my two plexis, 1959RR and Metalface. The modded Marshall is covered with the Metal. The Fender thing is covered with a BF DR, Vibro Champ and BF Champs. Looking for something more Modern.....

But when you get down there around the C B A notes I like a Tremoverb.
But I do not think that is going to make your list.![]()

Gary and I talked about the compression in the Herbert and that is something I don't care for. This amp will be for the lower tuned stuff. All the amps I have right now are not good at it. Also want something more modern voiced for recording.Giga":virzr85n said:Well, if that's a major concern you should at least try a Herbert. It's absurds how much lows that pumps out. I'm just not sure if you're gonna like it's natural compression in the mids. Fun amp to play though.

Someone mentioned the RK100 Cornford, that amp is a beast! PatrickJP always had some monster clips with his.
Big bucks though![]()
What I've heard of it does sound good, don't recall ever hearing any low tuned stuff.dawnofdreamx97":virzr85n said:yea the rk100 is smokin....
I'll check those later when I get home. The SLO has always intrigued me.loudgtr":virzr85n said:A Soldano with your choice of speakers & cabs would sound![]()
...well the dude that turned me onto Soldano when I was looking to pick up Mesa Stilleto said he tried both the Avenger and SLO but thought the SLO handled the low tuned stuff better in his band setting. He does some serious low tuning stuff! He thought it was possibly because of those amazing Deyoung transformes was what he speculated on.
...but here's some Drop d stuff with a Hot ROd 50+

The crunch channel impresses me more and more too. Great southern rock tones etc.
This video still amazes me; done with a $150 Squire strat with a JB in the bridge and that's it; I especially dig it when I plug into mine and get these tones as well!!![]()

Yeah had an Uber and XTC and have played the Shiva quite abit. Bogners just are not my thing.loudgtr":virzr85n said:Just thought of this, having had a XTC as well...
The sag will not be as much as a Bogner that is for sure; voiced different as well, but with the SLO and the Hi-Fi transformers there is a "touch sensitivity" that is really cool. Not as "ARD" if you get me
I actually hope you get to try one out and post a review.

Yeah I don't know yet. I remember talking at length with you about the Herbert. I've just decided that the Modern has the same tone as I get from my Plexi. Since i'm not doing the band thing anymore and focusing on recording it would be nice to have something different. Not that this would be my main amp by any means. But I could stand to have something "different" when needed.thegame":virzr85n said:I seriously think you're going to hate all of those, except the Soldano. Remember how much I regretted selling the Wizard for the Diezel ? Again, except for the Soldano, I can't see you keeping the others for very long.
If you can wait a little longer, the Natas amp will do low tunings better than anything else on the planet. It won't have a "typical" metal voicing either.
Between that and the SLO which handle the low tuning better? I'm not looking for earthshattering lows, but it needs to stay tight and clear in those lower ranges.johnnyjellybean":virzr85n said:Well I have 2 of the ones you mentioned and did have a Herbert at one time. The M90 is probably the most versatile amp I own and has a wonderful wide spectrum of sound. There isn't a clip on the internet that does it justice. Definitely worth checking out.

Great suggestion. That amp is a beast and its simplicity is a plus. Great sounding and very very loud of an amp.Digital Jams":16hnqs95 said:I have a MK IV for one of your Plexis![]()
