having owned both a vh 4 and herbert..id say that the 4 is bit more tighter on the bottom end....not much, but it is...

really? i my opinion is the herby tighter.
the VH4 is karder in the sound and the einy is between both.

VH4 is surgically tight - it's like a razor blade when doing palm stops & mutes and chugga-chugga to double stops. It's the tightest sounding amp I've ever played. And pretty well dead quiet. The Herbster is looser, bottom line, it breathes a little more per se, and opens up a little more when cranked. Just IMHO.
