Build ur own uberkab? Just a thought. Most definitely a safe build. Or roll the dice & live a little with something you never heard of.
Somebody around here knows what's up!!!!I went the opposite direction, and it's absolutely devastation.

My God, you've got to be pushing at least 50w through each of those cabs!I went the opposite direction, and it's absolutely devastation.

Those are Chinese. Get some T4416 16 ohm Mesas and it will be a level above a stock Friedman cab, for enjoyment AND resale.I have a Friedman.
JJs in a vintage Boogie? Shame on you.How many is this? You have no idea bitch!

Try the Scumbacks - everyone says they are good.I have six 4x12s, one of which is unloaded.
Currently I have the following speaker setups.
Vintage 30s
Greenbacks
Lynchbacks
Creambacks M65
Mamzer 30s by Fane
I’ve been considering Scumback BM75s.
Play hard rock primarily.
I've got a OS Mesa cab, sounds great. That said, by best sounding V30's are actually chinese.Yeah I thought about the 16 ohm Marshall Vintages as being legit, you are correct, but they aren't as good as Mesa T4416's.
Clearly, you haven't played the 80s Marshall Vintages. But, not many have. They're more rare than any other Celestion not named G12M20 from 1966-67.Yeah I thought about the 16 ohm Marshall Vintages as being legit, you are correct, but they aren't as good as Mesa T4416's.
So you mean Soldanos.. I've had a few Mesa cabs, both Standard and Traditional from the early 2k range and they are great...with Mesas. Not so much with other amps.

Yep, Soldanos hate them too, in my experience. SLOs, HRs all seem to love any speaker that Marshalls love.So you mean Soldanos.![]()

Any upper mid prevalent amp with V30’s is mid overkill.Yep, Soldanos hate them too, in my experience. SLOs, HRs all seem to love any speaker that Marshalls love.
The problem with Mesa 4x12 tone is the input jack and parallel-series wiring. Once I rewired mine, it sounds incredible with any amp I put on it. Unless the cab is beat to death broken in, the wiring is why amps hate it imho.Clearly, you haven't played the 80s Marshall Vintages. But, not many have. So, you get a free pass. I've had a few Mesa cabs, both Standard and Traditional from the early 2k range and they are great...with Mesas. Not so much with other amps.

Those are 8 ohm only, correct?Clearly, you haven't played the 80s Marshall Vintages.
Not exactly, I think most Peavey amps sound good with Mesa cabs and V30's. Actually, almost anything high gain, and modern sounding amps as well. Vintage amps tend to like speakers like greenbacks better, but they can work with the right V30 loaded cab.Any upper mid prevalent amp with V30’s is mid overkill.
So it's gotta be series parallel? There's hardly an audible difference IMO, if any.The problem with Mesa 4x12 tone is the input jack and parallel-series wiring. Once I rewired mine, it sounds incredible with any amp I put on it. Unless the cab is beat to death broken in, the wiring is why amps hate it imho.
Not necessarily. I have a 412 with all 16 ohm versions from 87. They are labelled 8 ohm. I'm thinking they were 'mislabelled' as Celestion sometimes did over the years. But, afaik no 412 came stock with them as 16s. The cab I have is an early 80s 800 cab that someone later put these in. The other cab I have is a stock original 1988 8 ohm 800 cab with them. The only other way to find 16 ohm versions were to pull them from Jubilee 212 combos. Those are 8 ohm only, correct?
Haven't tried that, so can't say.The problem with Mesa 4x12 tone is the input jack and parallel-series wiring. Once I rewired mine, it sounds incredible with any amp I put on it. Unless the cab is beat to death broken in, the wiring is why amps hate it imho.
