Going this afternoon to pick one up at GC. looking at the Yamaha THR10 version 2 or THRX10X. Also looking at the line 6 Amplifi or the H and K tubemeister 18. My main requirement is tone at low volume for the living room. I would also like to be able to run an MP3 through it to jam to. I really like the Bluetooth feature of the line 6 but I'm concerned about the overall tone.

Any quick advise would be appreciated.

....or is there a good sounding small speaker system I could use in conjunction with Jam up? I don't want to use just headphones.

I really love my THR10X.

Excellent piece of kit and great guitar tone at neighbour friendly volumes, though it can be loud if desired.

MP3 playback is great, I actually use it as my only speakers on my PC its that good.

Very varied set of tones, effects are cool, especially when you edit them on PC (saveable to unit so doesn't have to be connected to PC to access them).

Its been a revelation to me.

Seriously sounds great and its so small/portable.

Thanks. Good to hear that you can use it for MP3 playback with the THR10X. Question, if you are playing along with the MP3, does the guitar fade out the backing track when the strings are hit hard?

I haven't experienced anything like that no.

Separate volumes for each so no problem.

May want to look at the Blackstar Core ID series also.

I haven't played the others but I do own a Tubemeister 18 Combo. I think it's a great amp. Very nice clean channel and the dirty isn't to bad either. Also the loop sounds pretty transparent to my ears. I've using it for practice instead of lugging around my bigger amps. Depending on your drummer ....it could be loud enough without a mic. If not the us the redbox direct out. It sounds better than most.

I think you should look into the Baron Snotwatt full featured two channel Tube Head with Vintage and Modern

voicings times two channels and a Slave Out for silent Recording into CAB IRs and efx....especially if you need

to go all the way to modern high gain and stay all tube, it's about 6 watts.
