those 2 pickups are quite different from each other. The nailbomb has tons more low end and tons more output.
I wouldn't suggest the nailbomb as a replacement in a Gibson les paul (where 498T's usually resident). It has to much low end, with the mahonie body/neck... it would be to much of a blur. I once installed a bareknuckle warpig (slightly more low and output than a nailbomb) in a PRS SCT, and that had way to much low end. I practically sounded like a bassplayer.
Also, the nailbomb prefers low tunings (C-B-A-...) and doesn't come out as good in a mix when played in a E or Eb tuned guitar. I installed one in a Jackson SL2, and played that in various tunings, and in my band, it didn't come out as good as I hoped it would, but we play in standard E tuning. I loved the sound when tuned lower though.
