I was banned yesterday. Why I'm not sure as my posts were completely inoffensive, just the usual farcey stuff. Then out of nowhere - banned! I wonder if they have some kind of system whereby certain words get associated with a username. Last year I was given a holiday for getting into an argument over guns. Fair enough as I did stray over their line. Yesterday I posted about the guitar riff in "Happiness is a Warm Gun" and 10mins later I'm banned. Who knows?

Yeah I got a similar one saying "when you buy party licker in Texas you also get a free gun" a joke from a Family Guy episode. Whatever great to see you and glad you're okay!

Their style of moderation is inconsistent at best. Excuse the pun, but they are very much “shoot first, ask later” when it comes to handing out infractions. It seems they are looking in to posts that get reported less and less before deeming them inappropriate.

Sometimes an email asking for clarification or reconsideration will reverse the decision, but for me at least, I was getting suspended like every couple months for one reason or another and I just got tired of it. I wasn’t a stranger to perverse humor but I didn’t feel like I was any sort of problem poster over there.

I got banned from there more times than I can count. Eventually I’d get an email from them allegedly showing current posts or whatever and magically I could log back in. I was perma banned 3 or 4 times. Eventually I just got sick of fucking with it. That place is largely populated by entitled children who like to sling shit. Every time I sling it back A) it’s a much better pile of shit and B) I get banned. The moderators make it very difficult not to get “ infraction points” and be “punished”. It’s like being in 3rd grade.

Fuck that place. They act like it’s the only place on the internet. Frankly the only reason I ever went back after the first suspension was to buy and sell ( mostly buy) gear and to talk to the dudes in the live sound forum. By then I had a couple guys there who I considered friends too. Eventually I just couldn’t bring myself to do it any more.

I've made some good friends there who I'll miss, although some are here so all good. It's the not knowing why I was binned that's the frustrating part!
