Who here uses Greenbacks for low tunings?

I am amp and cab shopping right now and thought about picking up a 2X12 with the Warehouse ET65's. I believe those are supposed to be basically a higher powered greenie. Those should be pretty versatile right? Let's say versatile enough to cover AIC to spanky clean?

I know Pete (ihave27frets) really likes Greenbacks for lower tunings, but just wondering if anyone else here does? I tuned my Edwards V down to B and it sounds really good through my 1x12 Greenback loaded cab. Now I'm not sure if I want a Greenback or V30 loaded cab whenever I get another 4x12.

You would really be impressed with speakers that have a lower frequency range. Greenbacks have a lower range of around 80 Hz. A low E resonates at 83 Hz. A dropped D would resonate around 71 Hz. Drop A is down around mid-60's. That is one reason lower dropped tunings really have to be worked at with the amp to sound decent. They just won't sound good through everything. A V30 or branded equivalent is a good overall speaker as it bottoms out around 70 Hz at fair SPL levels.

Greenbacks are great for lots of tones even modern stuff like you're after at reasonable volumes. I do find g12-65's to have a greenback kind of voice but they hold together much better, they need to be pushed a bit to sound their best though.

Greenbacks sound awesome mark. The thing is for low tunings and medium to loud volume, they really do fart out and aren't nearly as loud sounding as many other speakers.

I rarely ever play at loud volume, so that's not a big issue.

Pretty sure they're real. They've always looked real to me.
