Wish I had time to play something...I don't know how you guys with young kids find the time. I haven't recorded something in months.

Nice one Pat....and Anthony, your big vibrato is off the charts amazing.

Look forward to hearing the rest mixed.
My 8 month-old daughter was literally pulling my guitar cord out of my axe and rolling all over the place whining, so I had about 20 minutes to fire up my pod and interface going into Garageband, and try to whip something together.
Oh man, kids change everything, don't they? :)
I have a drum kit downstairs and I swear I just hit the snare once and I'm mobbed "I WANT TO PLAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYY!!!"

I can see this is an unproductive time for a writing musician....one day I'll be able to plug in and they'll be busy with something.

although i didn't send jimmy L a solo, figuring it would be a 10 hour song and not wanting to play up against the monstrous likes of marky/curt/ant, i tried my hand at it today using the axe-fx digital out straight to garage band:

80's lick thief

rig:

tyler strat on the bridge holmes 450 pickup->cable->axe-fx plexi with tube drive pedal->stereo 4x12s with one 30 watt and one metal cab and cab air added at 2780hz->para eq cut at 160 and a hi shelf boost at 2532->dynamic delay/verb and a parallel octave below pitch shift blended in

sp/dif out of axe to 10 dollar radio shack sp/dif to optical converter to mac G5/garage band->itunes convert to mp3

I hear a little Hunter at :11

i tried to be as blatant as possible. :D

and i threw in the warren stretchy pinky slide lick for the complete 80's experience

in closing i hope to one day be as metal as a young japanese schoolgirl

You do not know how much I needed to hear a killer clip after today, and from none other than the keeper of TONE!!!!

Burned the joint down! I loved it and so glad you let loose for this one Pat.

Man I cannot wait for this to be finished, like the good old days the slingers have answered the call to bring the lost art of pure shred and holy shit the list of players is incredible

you definitely want to play this stuff with attitude!
i've seen many a rec session go down with "click-itis" where the focus is so much on being correct and the heart is lacking.

if it made it past your HOM filter, and brought some metallicious joy to your soul, then my work here is done.

Dude you mean that? You hear me, like if I had a recognisable style or something? Huh, I was more thinking like everyone else's solo is so much better than mine, I am happy I still made it in :loco:

Sup Brother!
No I did not because I couldn't record. I have a friend using/staying my condo at the moment and I don't have access to my recording rig. With that said, I can't wait to hear the final cut!

Pat can gush about his dumble blooms, Landau shows, whatever........................the 80s fire has never left his soul and wish he video taped his take so we could have seen him strangling that guitar like Lynch during his Skull do period

Bro I got to watch Pat and Ralphie strangle the shit out of Pat's Tyler and Quilted Metal Machine last year in the hotel room. It was fantabulous! Pat was killin' with the Yngwie sweeps like they were nothing! And Ralph "The Makita" was all over the place. I filmed some of it, but his fingers were going so fast it was like trying to see a hummingbirds wings flap in the breeze, just not possible

Sheet son, pull up a chair and put your listening ears on cause old Digijams has a tail.....................

So Ed Degenaro, myself, and ralph are inside the amp room of Cliff Cultreri in his studio and we're putzing around checking out some amps and all of a sudden on a very worn out strat Ralph drops the fucking hammer on a plexi type amp with no boost to soften it up and does the dewalt set to drill thang going up the neck.............I just looked at Cliff and he was pretty speachless

I have never seen Pat play
