Who wants to play a solo on Rig-Talk members only song?

Paul Gilbert did the picks on the makita trick back in the racer x days and then with mr big, then a decade later vh does that lame poundcake song using the same trick and he gets all the hype.

I guess vh figured it was time to blatantly rip someone elses gimmick for a change!

It's gonna be done tonight. It's 20 minutes long, so I requested the upgrade on youtube to upload 20 minute videos, waiting for the reply. Does anyone know a place I can upload a 20 minute song? I don't think I can on soundclick.

hey James,

just thinking out loud here. Is it possible to split into two separate sessions at 10 minutes each? Or would that be a big deal/headache?

I do but I can't have people download a 20 minute song. A few years ago I posted up 11 tracks of Led Zeppelin in rehearsal writing songs for every record from II to Physical Graffiti and I had so many downloads my bill for the month was $1500. I'm scared if everyone downloads it that I will get slammed.

I'm aware of what Paul and Ed did...I didn't think Ralph actually had a Makita in the hotel room So those are just terms for "shred" that this old-timer hasn't heard yet...got it

although i didn't send jimmy L a solo, figuring it would be a 10 hour song and not wanting to play up against the monstrous likes of marky/curt/ant, i tried my hand at it today using the axe-fx digital out straight to garage band:

rig:

tyler strat on the bridge holmes 450 pickup->cable->axe-fx plexi with tube drive pedal->stereo 4x12s with one 30 watt and one metal cab and cab air added at 2780hz->para eq cut at 160 and a hi shelf boost at 2532->dynamic delay/verb and a parallel octave below pitch shift blended in

sp/dif out of axe to 10 dollar radio shack sp/dif to optical converter to mac G5/garage band->itunes convert to mp3

i tried to be as blatant as possible.

and i threw in the warren stretchy pinky slide lick for the complete 80's experience

in closing i hope to one day be as metal as a young japanese schoolgirl

Yeah, Aex Flouros hosted some jams back on HCAF and for these big ones he's split it up to 5 minutes each or so.
