With the digital wireless systems we have now is the tone the same as a cable? All opinions accepted! What is the best wireless system right now?

I just scored this NIB off Reverb, has killer sound quality.

No body packs to mess with. 300 feet.

These are discontinued.

Been using the Line 6 g10 for about a year now and gotta say it works well. I still use cable for recording purposes, mainly out of habit, I guess I should try using the wireless to record just to see how it compares.

Ive been reading up on the line6 stuff, the shure, and the samson... all look great. Pittbull audio has a g30 for 169 shipped which seems like a good deal

Line 6 G10 here as well. It's been fantastic live and in studio!

I didn't get along with most wireless systems, not that anybody but me would notice, or care - but I can definitely hear the difference. But the audience most likely never does.

I have the original X-Wire that is very good, and I recently got a lectrosonics that I use currently. Depending on the rig, it can be unnoticeable.

At home I always use a cord. On stage I use a wireless for the freedom.

Been using a Line 6 G50 for years. No problems. Can't tell the difference between it and a cable.

I've been gigging with a G50 for 3+ yrs, zero problems.
Tone stays consistent

Love my G50. Tone is so subjective and you're really buying wireless (or at least I believe most people do) for convenience on stage. Any tonal variance is negligible. Different brands\lengths of cable probably offer up as much tonal variance as the wireless system itself. For me, in a live setting, there's no going back.

The G90 has a feature where you can select impedance simulation of a cable.

Been using a Line6 G90 for about 5 years now. Never a drop out, never a glitch.

Wireless is something I never think about until a thread pops up every couple of years.
I'm sure they work great these days.
I'm fine with a cable. I rock, I move around on stage, but......really I'm just playing clubs. I might step out of my zone 10 or 12 feet.
Do they run on batteries? I hate batteries. I don't want more batteries to swap out.

G50 user for years now. No issues except I've had to buy a new transmitter pack and I go through the guitar cables probably at least once a year. I'm pretty brutal on the pack and cable. But I've never had any issues with the system itself.

G50 batteries last me like 3 months, practicing for 1-2 hours a week.

batteries on the shure are rechargeable and last at least 7 hours per charge.

Many fuzz pedals sound crappy with wireless due to the buffer necessary in a wireless system.

Otherwise I've loved my GLXD16 as well.

Man, some of you guys must play on some big stages. Most of the stages I play on seem like they were an afterthought for the club/bar. Almost all of them are too small, nestled in the corner, and some are odd shaped. I have to stand almost directly in front of my bassist at nearly every gig. I'd still like to have a wireless so I could play while walking around in front of the stage while we're sound checking.
