Wireless vs Cable

the shure glxd16 looks great.. price might be too high for my total lack of commitment.. the g30 might be what I get first just to see if I like the sound and feel of the wireless. anyway, thanks all for the great info

I had a G30 when they were fairly new and it worked great. Sold it when I wasn't gigging for a bit and grabbed another in 2015 when I joined a new band. I had intermittent quick drop outs, which I then found out are fairly common on the G30s.
I moved to the glxd16 and haven't looked back. I like that the receiver has a tuner and boost and live the rechargeable transmitter.

So many cables can sound so different, its almost like a PU change. Im sure wireless has it own thing, depending on the brand & all that. Id like to test a few out & compare.

I use the Line 6 G10. Just for home use and jamming but it works well. Easy to use as well and the charge lasts ages.

Tone has been great since wireless went 2.4ghz and companderless. The feel however still changes when the passive pickup is not directly connected to the input tube.

Man, some of you guys must play on some big stages. Most of the stages I play on seem like they were an afterthought for the club/bar. Almost all of them are too small, nestled in the corner, and some are odd shaped. I have to stand almost directly in front of my bassist at nearly every gig. I'd still like to have a wireless so I could play while walking around in front of the stage while we're sound checking.

For me it had nothing to do with stage size, and everything to do with tripping over my cable and fucking up my cables and jacks. I'm not the most coordinated person. I love moving around while I play, and, when I'm playing, I'd rather not worry about where my feet are in relation to my cable.
