They used it for palace and temple pillars....I'm sure it would work for guitar. I'd like a thin solid body double cut-away - maybe SG-like, dual humbuckers, hardtail, gold hardware, and have the neck and head to be solid pieces of this wood, with a separate plank of this wood for the fretboard, Jescar gold frets; leave the wood natural color but bring out the 3D look; with a thin poly clear coat...

I'm afraid to know what the wood alone would cost!

Pretty cool but way too nice for anything i play.
I don't understand the mindset of "I don't play well enough to own this [insert gear]". If you like it, want it, can afford it, and it makes you happy then why not get it? Otherwise we'd all be playing on First Act and Bugera.

I didn't say i don't play well
I'm just not into stuff that's too fancy/flashy.

Gotcha. I misunderstood your meaning. Most comments like that lean towards saying they don't play well enough to own certain gear.

I guess for me it boils down to- i don't need anything too fancy or expensive to make it happen.

My Opa would shit a brick if I mentioned poly as a finish. When he passed, I refinished his dresser with stain and tung oil. I found the tung takes a long time to set up. The linseed sets up quick but has a reddish orange tint.
