I really dug that

The most inspiring "shred" instrumental solo I've heard in a long time.

Thanks for sharing.

Ok, I can not confirm this, but this is the last I heard. I use to take lessons from him down at Carvin in Santa Ana. Was BSing with a friend of mine in Laguna about 4 months ago and some how Joey came up in the convo. Long and short of it was my friends Bassist said he became a millionare making the guitar straps for the Guitar Hero guitars. Not sure how true that is, but apparently the person who told me said he was Joey's buddy. Seems weird to me that they just aren't made in China, but that's what I heard...

He was a great guitar teacher. I hated taking lessons until I took some with him. But it was just too far for me to drive at the time.

Kage and I met him at NAMM a few years ago and it looked as if he put playing guitar on the back burner. he was quite possibly one of the coolest guys that we met that year. Im not sure about the guitar strap thing but he definitely looked as if he was a businesman and he looked as if he was doing well. Im sure Kage can chime in because he had a great chat with him

Well I don't know how long his website has stated "coming soon" but it looks like he's working on getting together his solo guitar career. I think a player like him, with his melodic style and technique, could make a real comeback these days. I'd really love to hear something new from him.

Awesome player, I've got all his stuff
Aaaaw yeah!

I also forgot to mention that Joey is like a lot of guitar player in that he thinks everything that he does sucks lol. I had a conversation with someone who helped produce a record with him and he said that everyone was just blown away by Joey's playing and Joey just wanted to do more takes because he thought it sucked lol

great guy, great player!

I used to share rehearsal spacewith him. I can ask Mike Black (Targa) if he knows where Joeys at.

Joey Tafolla's guitar work was great on the 1984 Jag Panzer album "Ample Destruction"...he also re-joined the band,in the late 90's,and played killer on the Jag Panzer "The Fourth Judgement" album

Joey got involved with a lot of the merchandising for big dogs like Fender etc and has done really well with it. Everything from Gym bags to guitar straps etc...

I wasnt the biggest fan of out of the sun but when he came out with Infra blue, I was hooked.

+1 on the merchandising and screen printing etc. That was the last I heard from over on the RacerX board as well.

I think he even made some shirts for them, but don't really remember now.

I just ordered the album Infra Blue off Amazon. I used to have Out of The Sun and for the life of me can't remember what the fuck happened to it.
