WTF - Monster cable has changed their warranty...

So I have a Monster Rock cable that someone bought for me as a present a couple years ago. Last night I noticed that it sounded quite a bit off. No problem, take it back to a liscensed retailer and get a new one, right? WRONG! Apparently, I have to mail them back to Monster for a replacement...

I am so done with those.

On a related note, should I replace them with:
- Homemade Mogami/Neutrik cables
- Voodoo 50/50
- Livewires
- Some Lava type

I will probably be getting 2x~20ft. I like the one Mogami gold I have, but those are a little expensive...

I had a 10 foot monster cable that changed over the few years that I had it. I sent it back to monster for a new one, and got the new one within a few days, no charge.

me the same Bullshit speech.
I told them, "The only reason I bought Monster
cable, was for their no hassle return policy"

So I chucked the broken cable on the floor and
said, "You keep it, I'm all done with Monster cable
and Daddy's, you're both an extreme waste of time"!!
And that's..that!
Planet Waves all the way, since then.

Not to detract from your speech, but I think I remember someone saying that Planet Waves and Monster cable are just rebranded versions of either the same materials or from the same factory or that they are in some way connected.

Im done with buying cables since i got into soldering my own. I even went through a George L phase but i dont trust non soldered cables anymore. I paid 40 bucks for 50 feet of mogami cable at GC and can get switchcraft connectors for like a buck each from redco. Its sickening thinking about all the cables i've bought over the years and easy it is now for me to just make my own.

mogami all the way, i buy in bulk 300ft+ and make the cables as i need them with neutrik ends.

fwiw i do like planet waves for anything post preamp, mogami sounds great out front but not so much out back. cant deny the differences i heard versus mogami, i only use what sounds good

i will say i had a planet wave cable out front, stepped on the cable by accident and the cheap ass plastic end broke. other than that i cant complain about them to be honest, sounds good to me.

I personally use Voodoo 50/50 and I will never use anything else. As long as you get tried and true, you really can not go wrong, and they are ALL better than Monster garbage.

I had a Voodoo 50/50 go bad a little over a year after buying it (was a back-up at the time) that I never used, then had a different rig and needed it and it was dead on one end. Called the shop to buy another speaker cable and asked if I could have this cable fixed/replaced, even though it was out of warranty, and Mike asked Trace while I was on the phone and just said "send it in and we will take care of it!" Just saying I have always had great service from Voodoo, and their cables sound substantially better than any off the shelf cables I have tried. I can not compare them to any other better quality cables though like Mogami, Lava, etc..

I have had better luck with my Planet Waves Circuit Breaker cables.

But to the OP, Mogami cables are AMAZING!!!
