You have 10k to blow on a guitar and amp tomorrow....

You don't have to spend all of it but you don't get to keep any unspent money.

You can use leftovers from the guitar and amp purchase for pedals but that's it.

What are you getting?

Go.

I'd probably get a James Tyler Studio Elite HD-P (Made in Japan) or an ESP custom build within 6-7k.

For the amp, I'd get a Diezel VH4 or VHX, or possibly a Mesa Mark or Rectifier, depending on what I can snag.

I'd get a korina (neck and body) Kamikaze in vintage yellow/natural from the ESP custom shop with a '58 style big fat neck.

I'd then cross my fingers and toes and wish 10k would cover it.

Either amp:
Mesa Mark IIC+ 100 HRG
Driftwood Atlas 180

Either an Ibanez or schecter 7 of some sort.

Peavey 6505, Mesa 4x12
Esp/ltd 7 string

The rest on hookers and coke

Spending 10k isnt going to make me play any better. But if i had to id probably call a custom builder and put something together with my specs.

2 boutique hot P90s.
Hard tail Tele shape
Some custom wiring
Exotic wood with a nice flame top
22 SS frets
RW board
Gold hardware
Locking tuners

EVH Custom Shop Wolfgang, a Friedman JEL50, Eventide Pitch Factor for detune, a nice Delay and a Maxon OD808. I would then pair the setup with my Two EVH 4X12's and call it a day

I'm still gonna play the same old tired riffs on this set up as well, but it will make me feel like I'm playing them so much better :ROFLMAO:

Something used that has good resale value, moves fast when listed, and gets as close to the 10k mark as possible, which I'll then immediately flip so that I can pocket the money while still meeting the rules.

I'd skip the amp, but get another pair of Marshall 4x12 cabs with greenbacks

I already have all the guitars and amps I ever wanted - SLO, Plexis, Friedman, LPs, EBMM EVHs, etc. There is one guitar i kind of GAS for - the 1983 Kramer Baretta reissue. My guitar teacher got a real one back when I started taking lessons and the execs from Kramer were driving around to all their dealers in NJ to show off this new model. His was later stolen in a home break in and he had offered to sell it to me a year earlier, but I was headed to Germany for a junior year abroad and figured I'd buy it when I got back. The break in happened while I was away. I have fondled one of the reissues at SW and it really brought me back. Otherwise, I GAS for nothing.

That would be cool to have but way overpriced IMO. I purchased a Music Yo 84 for about $700 back in the early 2000's and probably just as good.

The 84s are different. The headstocks just don't look right on those. Kramer got crushed with orders when that original came out and they had to outsource the necks to ESP, which were still great, but not the same.
