OK, go ahead and kill me for this... When I was using Peavey gear (Wolfgang Standard USA guitars) their customer service was incredible. I never paid a dime in shipping and they always turned my guitars super fast and did everything perfect, always called me as soon as they got my guitars in and did exactly what I asked. They also went above and beyond what I expected and replaced parts, even cases that they felt were worn or not up to snuff.

My beat up old G&L gets my number one vote. I've never played a bad or even mediocre one. I'm talking more about dependability and durability than "custom build specs".

PRS and Music Man, Anderson....can't think of any more right now.

I wouldn't trade my Peavey Wolfgang or HP Special for anything. For the money they are excellent quality guitars. Since Peavey doesn't have anything high end these days I say EBMM is near the top for a producing quality guitars for an affordable price.

Hamer U.S.A. Guitars is one of the few guitars Ill buy without playing first.
Ive had a bunch come threw my hands and consistently they where all great guitars.

Would love to get my hands on a Suhr or Tom A. from all the high remarks they get!!

GMW
Tyler
Suhr
Anderson
Gibson (Old)
Fender
Charvel
Wayne Guitars
Vigier
Baker

For me its Brian Moore guitars outa the Brewster & La Grange NY custom shops.
Stunning quality & play like butter.

Got to give a nod to PRS, maybe I've just been lucky but I haven't found a bad one.

Would love to get my mits on a Tom Anderson & McNaught one day.

Don't wanna hijack the thread or anything, but I'm curious about how Music Man stacks up with the rest of these. I played a Luke recently and loved it and have had serious gas since then. (I'm new to RT, so if this is something that's frowned upon here, lemme know).

EBMM--2nd worst guitar I've ever played... First is PRS...

Wow, that's an interesting statement. I'd like to hear about your experiences with these guitars.

I have lots of experience on both sides and here it is for me...

1. Tom Anderson (They best guys, the best guitars, the best service they rule).
2. Tom Bartlett (A master craftsmen)
3. ESP Custom Shop
4. Charvel Custom Shop (Mike Shannon is a master)
5. Jerry Bizon

Brad, I'm surprised you don't have Suhr on your list? I suppose you might not jive with them as much as other brands, but can you deny the awesome build quality and customer service?

Build quality is good.

EBMM is the worst customer service and management I have come across in this business. Just calling a spade a spade. Very very poor.

I would definitely agree with this statement!

The EBMM rep up here in Ontario Canada has been very helpful to me. Anyhow, I believe we are talking about guitar quality and not customer service/management quality.

Like I mentioned in another thread.... I love my EBMM JP6 BFR. It just feels, plays, sounds and looks great. BUT if I dive bomb the trem it isn't smooth at the bottom. I called EBMM and dude said the two studs the knife edge rests on are probably getting grooves in them. It still plays fine. Stays in tune fine. Not an expsensive fix. I mentioned that my guitar was bought new roughly a year and a half ago thinking they should cover everything. They didn't see it that way. Wonder what Anderson, Suhr, or Charvel would have done??

Jim

Yep, sorry about the customer service thingy.

I don't know if a company should warranty a knife edge or not. I know a guy who is constantly wearing out knife edges due to the fact that he is constantly using the bar. I am the opposite and my tremolos last me forever.

For the money I still think EBMM builds some quality instruments.
I once went to out shopping for an Anderson or a Suhr and after a few hours of test driving, I came home empty handed. I couldn't justify spending over a grand more on a guitar that really didn't do anything my EBMM can't do.
