cant wait till i start youtubing and mislead people with my clickbait titles and fart-pushing faces in the thumbnail which will get me free gear and big $$$$, dudes are gonna hate the shit out of me as i LOL
He learned that from Glenn Fricker who did the same from the old Ultimate Metal/Andy Sneap forum.Kyle Bull just mines years of forum discussion by guys like us and then preaches it as his own thoughts and discoveries.
I actually caught him creating a video about a VERY specific topic I had brought up in a forum a few days prior that I know he's a member of. He even quoted my thoughts on the the topic and posed the question to his viewers and acted like he was the one who discovered the topic.
I don't watch his videos, mainly because I can't stand his overly sarcastic self deprecating zoomer type attitude and delivery.
Yeah, if it was ONLY that. That guy's video history has (had?) SO many 'serious' themed videos with titles such as, "Guys, we need to talk, this could be the END of my channel", or "My gear addiction is out of control, therefore I'm selling EVERYTHING!" followed soon by new videos along the lines of "Just bought 19 used cabs for $3K" or "Totally UNBIASED 17 high gain amp shootout + how to dial in the winning Mezzabarbra amp when it's controls are stuck from dried spooge"You can’t tell me you’re not looking to get triggered by something after writing that post.
I’m on my lunch break and spent 5 minutes skimming that pickup video, literally the only thing he’s saying (I have to assume you didn’t watch it) is “Sometimes high output pickups don’t work like you expect them to with high gain amps” and that’s it. He figured out how to stretch that into a 17 minute video. He never said he was never using them again or that anyone else couldn’t be using them, just that sometimes they over compress when being used with a high gain amp and might not deliver what you expect. Which is true. And I’d imagine the overwhelming majority of his viewers are people younger than him, with less experience.
And that makes him a dumbass for using them in another video? What part of your brain said “It’s logical to call him out over this”? I’m genuinely curious. “Hey Kyle, you said in one video that high output pickups MIGHT over-compress a high gain amp, so what the fuck were you doing using high output pickups with the IIC+ even though you never said anything about not using them again?? HUH?? ANSWER THAT BITCH!!!”
And I sure hope all you tossing that sell-out term around are doing what you love for a living and not a single bit of your job is unappealing, because if Kyle’s a sell-out for playing and talking about gear all day, what’s that make for those of us who don’t do something with music for a living? Personally, I sold out the day I stopped pursuing a career in music and got a job in the trades because I allowed money to get between myself and my dream job. Fortunately, I’m a fuck of a lot happier and own most of the gear I wanted because of that job, but I’d still prefer to actually play the gear for a living.
This is no different than the tan pants crew at TGP shitting on Rhett Shull whenever he makes a video, it equally screams of dudes in their 50’s/60’s who aren’t happy with the way life turned out, being jealous of someone younger than them who figured out how to earn a living doing what they love. That’s 2 youtubers I’ve subscribed to in the last 2 weeks just because they’ve triggered people over absolutely nothing. I tend to be more of a ‘high tides raises all ships’ type.
I got no issues with either. I think hanging out with Ben Eller would be cool though.

I have no issue with him personally, just opposite ends of the spectrum totally and music tasteWhat everyone's issue with Kyle ?
That is a lot. But it isn't about doing what you love for a living. You can’t tell me you’re not looking to get triggered by something after writing that post.

Pete Thorn and Leon Todd seem like they would be fun to hang out with. They seem to enjoy playing and we have similar tastes musically. I honestly wouldn't mind hanging out with Michael Nielsen either. I love a lot of that old rack stuff and he has a ton of it.
