I'm just gonna get the entire kit from ceriatone. Then I can always change/mod it from there. Do you use all the switches when playing? Mostly thinking about the ERA switch?

I usually find a good sound and leave everything set the way it is. I never use the bright switches set to emphasis treble. Just the boosted mid-range setting. And only ever one switch at a time, never both. For the Era switch, I typically prefer the lower gain setting. The higher gain side is good for super modern metal and whatnot.

I was thinking about putting different value bright caps on the switches to emphasis different areas of the mid range, instead of the treble. But I chickened out. Since there are two bright switches and both have the same caps, I think it's a bit redundant. I figure... why not have four different cap values so you have four options, instead of just two. But meh... more work lol.

Sooooon. Trying to track down a small gremlin! I must have a cold solder joint somewhere.

Have you managed to track the gremlin? :D
Interested if you are satisfied with the outcome.

Nope. I found the problem. Just had to move a ground connection to another spot. Amp is quiet as can be and sounds great. I will make a clip at some point. Currently having new windows installed in my place, so can't do anything yet with all the construction.

I've been busy with work and life lately. Just haven't had time to come back to this one. The amp is done, though. I have another build planned as well, just waiting for iron... as always.

I'm working on a global campaign for a video game company at the moment, so I have little time for amp building until that's done.

Overall, I like ARS filter caps more than F&T. Slight sound and feel difference. But it's there. The Beyschlag resistors are good.
