Zion Guitars..any love?

I remember them being high end back in the day. Bought a mint DC-3 head today. Guy had a sweet Zion with a quilted top, s/s/h, trem, spertzels...played really nice. Going back tomorrow after work to pick it up

I have one but I never play it. I just play my Floyded Charvels right now. It's a great guitar but it had been forever since I had a guitar with a Floyd type bridge.

Sure, I use my Radicaster all the time!



It´s a bad pic so it looks like a clownburst, but it´s a beautiful cherryburst over swamp ash. It has a killer birdseye board and a cool laminate neck that they didn´t make that many of.

They are/were great guitars, bought mine new in 89 straight from Ken himself! The quilt tops can be funny some had Mahogany backs and some had Basswood. Basswood, quilttops, EMG's and a Floyd made for a really bright guitar..

Thanks. It's def a older one. The guy said it was like $2200 new. Neck is on the slim side and plays fast

Yeah, you don´t hear as much about them as you used to do, I´m thinking the operation is pretty small by now and essentially a one-man shop, but Dale still makes very nice guitars. Up there in quality with all the usual suspects, for sure.

Def a first rate guitar. Trying to figure out a value is tough. Closest one I found to mine is $1300 on eBay but I realize that's on the high end. Any guesses? Am I out of line thinking $1,000?

I would snatch a Classic (yours is an archtop, right?) for the equivalent of $1,000, sure.
