Zoom Q3 HD recording tips?

Just looking for the best way to record amp demo's. Are you guys recording amps straight on or at an angle?

Put the mic on "Low" when recording loud amps.

Yeah I always use the low setting I just didn't know if most people are setting it up dead in front or doing it a little of axis. I know the mics are set up that way but just looking for the optimal way.

I have been experimenting with this unit and I found out it works better off to the side at a 45 degree angle. The first set of experimental recordings was 6 feet away from cabinet on auto record level. This method seem to work better than straight on.
