NOICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats, great looking Tele.

Cheers guys, i been playing her all afternoon and it's just awesome sounding, the neck pickup is incredible and the in out of phase switch is phat

Yours is autographed too?! Mine doesn't have a sig on the back of the headstock.

yeah richie did a store day in the place in edinburgh i bought it, signed 3 of them, and i got to try those plus one that wasn't signed. the sig wasn't even taken into consideration tbh, i picked the one i liked the sound of best and she sounds incredible. luckily that was a signed one lol

he even signed it in a sensible place

Congrats, it's a great guitar! I have one of Richie's old Marshalls, and it sounds unbelievable with that!!

NICE! any mods on that? i know his cornford amp is dirt simple, like 5 knobs

It's pretty stock. I don't know enough about the inner workings of amps, but I can tell you there are no added gain stages or anything obvious.

I'm sure if it was one of richies it's a killer regardless, he's got a great ear and would imagine picked ones that he liked

thanks man, she sounds better lol

i posted these on another forum i'm on, but thought they might be interesting. they're the result of a conversation between the store owner and richie during the store day he did at the shop where i bought this. the back story is that the kotzen teles in any colour are now discontinued

1) they've discontinued throught lack of sales which shocked the hell out of me as it's an incredible guitar. they're very popular in certain area's but completely unsupported in others. what i'm taking from that is, basically guys in the states who know these love them but because they were never exported there, they never got the sales. they were imported for europe by fender europe as it didn't compete with any current item. a few years back the order came down from on high that jap guitars were just for the jap market, so essentially cutting off another market for them. this guitar is the "firefly" of guitars lol never given a chance
2) even though they were in production from the 90's there were only (and this came from richies mouth apparently) something like 400 of each colour produced, so the guitar is a lot rarer than you think.
3) richie didn't use some handmade custom shop model for touring and only put his name to this. He used these production line guitars for touring and studio work. he also signed off on all the guitars produced. The current red tele he's being seen with is a prototype of some description.

Love the way it looks. Congratulations on a great looking guitar.

What are the specs on the body? I know that it has a flame maple top, but what is the body wood? Alder or ash?

Thanks!

no worries, she's a 2 piece swamp ash body, the maple is actually just a cap more like an axis. pickups are a chopper T in the bridge and a twang king in the neck (which btw sounds insanely good with mid to high gain). there's an in out of phase selector pot which works in the middle position and sounds like a tubescreamer on clean boost. the tone control is sacrificed for the pot but IMO you don't need it.

the bodies actually my only niggle, and it's a minor one at that. i should take a pic of the back but the join is nothing like centred and the wood grain is completely different. however, saying that they're obviously picking wood based on it's tonality rather than it's look (it's behind a cap anyway) because this is the most resonant sustaining guitar i own.
