There is an ad in the new Guitar World for the Charvel Desolation, a bit of a teaser though, all it shows is part of a 3x3 headstock with their logo emerging from a mountain of rock. Nothing much on their site yet except a coming soon page. I am interested in seeing this LP style along with the specs.

at least we know the headstock is going to look kool

i am really interested in seeing this guitar

Judging by all that abalone around the headstock and inlays, my guess is either MIJ or MIK import of some kind similar to an ESP/ schecter. IMO charvel should stick to super strats, and bring back some rare classic like their explorers and v's.

They'll never do Explorers or Vs anymore. Not gonna happen...

That's a shame. I also think they could do more with the tele shape even though they didn't sell as well recently.

It is the new Charvector single cut.

I think the headstock looks pretty cool which is the biggest problem i have with most single cut guitars out there. I'd like to see what a company that specializes in super strats taking on a single cut style guitar.

LP type with the Charvel neck would feel pretty good on the hands. Probably a bit odd though without the strat body.

What I wanted, maple neck with a sc body

That binding is really putting me off

It's Fender - they aren't going to do Gibson bodies. Just not gonna happen...

This definitely ain't your daddy's Charvel. I'm not sure I'll like it but it could be a good move to grab some market share from the younger generation who doesn't necessarily care for 80's "superstrats".
