It most certainly isn't going to replace my Cherry Bomb or Mark IIC+, but it sounds and feels REALLY good. And for the price point, I think it sounds amazing.
I haven't even put an MXR 10 band in the loop yet.....which is the secret sauce for my sound with every amp and I got it dialed in to a tone that sounds like "me" in just a few minutes.
Highly recommend this thing.
One last point.....I would be happy to gig with this thing in a heartbeat if I were still gigging. It is much better than several amps that I did gig with
Wow.

Now plug that eq in the loop. This amp will melt your face off.

The real amps AND the axe have a 3d depth katana does not. katana also has a VERY bright and aggressive high mid voicing that takes a bunch of EQ to tame. I hadn't really noticed HOW bright until I started AB-ing.
Ill be keeping katana, its GREAT as a practice amp, for quick demo recordings and as a grab and go gigging backup. It wont replace anything for me but adds another tool to the arsenal.

I think it sounds decent...
I believe the record out is stereo and line out is mono. I'll try and do some direct comparison.moltenmetalburn":1bqajdp9 said:JerEvil":1bqajdp9 said:Used the head at a casino gig tonight. Sounds pretty cool but Im wondering and have to to figure out the differences between line out and record out. Looking at the block diagram it seems neither has power amp tone unlesa the dsp does something and I cannot figure out if the record out has cabinet eq either.
The literature is horrible. Cant find frequency centers for the eq knobs, for the high and low eq parameters and MANY other questions. The documentarion is piss poor.

What are you all doing with the eq settings? I'd like to melt face too
I imagine a little smile mid scoop?
Is it way better than just using the same settings in the para eq in the amp software?
