Mixing similar speakers/clones from different brands together?

I've been playing around with different speaker combo's the last week or so. I really liked the way a Celestion g12t-75 and WGS ET-65 sounded in a 212. The ET-65 filled in the mids that I felt the g12t was lacking, but weren't overbearing like a V30 can be. So, I want to put that combo in one of my 412s. I have only one ET-65 at the moment so I will need to get another speaker.

The ET-65 is WGS's version of a Celestion G12-65. I'm thinking to get a Celestion G12-65 instead of the WGS version, but not sure how that would work out. It would technically be 3 types of speakers going into the 412. Would the differences in the Celestion & ET-65 be enough to matter; sound wise or any phase issues? Should I get another ET-65 since that's what I already have? Any advice on this?

Not sure how they'd sound, but I have an Et-65 for you if you decide to go that route.

I am a big fan of mixing speakers, but it does leave one with the dilemma of which speaker to mic or do you mic both Types. If you go with a g12-65, it will likely work well, but then which speaker or speakers to mic and that g12-65 is significantly more than the et65.

I haven’t compared them, but I have heard that the wgs et65s are significantly different than the g12-65 reissues. The original g12-65 there are a number of versions so it’s hard to know what you will get if buying an old one. I really like the et65s, very warm sounding speaker that works great with the Soldano hr25 that I use with them.

It also has a tighter (but less prominent) low end. I would think a mix of the 75’s, ET65, and 12-65 would be too congested and messy.

The entire mix being convoluted is my main concern. If it was a 1:1 copy I wouldn't worry about it and get a Celestion. Being that the 2 speakers are slightly different the sound probably would come out a nit garbled.
That bit of extra upper mid emphasis you mentioned from the ET65 is what I like about how it mixes with the 75. It's enough to fill in what the 75's feel like they're missing, but no so much to take over like when mixed with a V30.
I think it best to go with what I know works and get another ET65.

I have found out that when mixing speakers it narrows the EQ spectrum of your amp...
You must get "that" combination that works...
I decided that I prefer using the same speakers in a cab, and use another cab if needed...

I’m a huge fan of 65s. A few yrs back I picked up an SLO 212 combo(pretty rare) that came unloaded; I bought a pair of ET65s and liked them. Very close to a real 65….until I pushed the volume up and the ETs wilted a bit vs my real 65s that hold up fine at extreme volume. That was my only criticism of the WGS.
