We dig the amp!

The only negative comments were that the classic rock tones weren’t real strong compared to a stock Marshall. For higher gain stuff it absolutely rips.
That’s been my experience as well with 5 of the 6 Cameron mods I’ve been through and most modded Marshall’s. They often become high gain machines that aren’t as effective for milder stuff. The 3 channel Cam mod I had still could get killer classic rock or blues tones and was even used for exactly that in the reamp of one my friend’s songs

Are you buying a Cameron Modded Marshall for mid gain tho?
I didn't ?

Another excellent demo! That amp sounds good. As do every one his amps I have had or heard. Speaking of polarity, FWIW my experience with Mark Cameron has always been positive. I am sure it makes others boil to hear that( SGT thump aka "Chaps" who started RT for one). There are two sides to every coin.
Personally as much as I love a good high gain tone, if it doesn't "schuck", as you guys put it in Oz, I would rather it be stock. It's easy to add gain to a classic tone, but hard to get classic tone out any of the high gain modded amps. Helios is closest I have heard to doing both in one box.

Cameron modded JMP 1959. Fun amp:

between Leon staring into my soul and Joel's flowing chestnut tresses, as well as his bulging biceps gripping the neck of that les paul into submission....I found this video very.....climactic.....thank you sir...thank you....

seriously though-great vid as usual. It sounds smokin. I've never played a camaron but I just don't get the hype. dsl with a pedal can get similar sounds right? Or an 800? I know other amp makers do it in spades....I can't believe someone hasn't curb stomped his ass. Sorry-dude is polarizing for sure.

I've put a several different Pedals in front of my 2203 and most pretty much crush, but not the same as either of my Monomyths.
Feel completely different.
Glad I don't have to chose. ?

yup-like I said I have no experience with a camaron. There are to many solid dudes doing the modding thing to fool with that moron. sorry for the derail Zen...it is what it is...

similar but not really, theres a smoothness camerons have while still cutting, its like the perfect blend of a marshall and iic+ to me. its the feel that separates them too, i didnt really buy into the mythical feel i read about for 20 but curiosity got the best of me and i understand now, its just like the perfect bounce without feeling saggy. its just fun as fuck to play

damm the guitarists are so good...
I'd like to take credit but can't, we have talented mates!

The first few bars of the 71' smallbox was so good I thought the demo tune was drop dead legs, it was that good.
Cheers, high praise indeed.

Thanks man. I actually tried out a Helios but had limited success, might revisit.

Whatever floats your boat man, no judgement here and we promise not to tell your significant other.

No worries, derailing is fine as long as it's still about gear or folks that do stuff with gear. If it strays into COVID or Biden stuff we are truly doomed.

Keep it up, Zen, your channel rules. ?
Thanks heaps! Orange Rockerverb and Splawn Quick Rod up next.

On the whole Cameron thing, or any modded Marshall, I really believe they have their place. Putting pedals into a 1959 or 2203 is awesome fun, but to my ear it's quite a different sound and experience to a good mod. Besides the obvious factor - gain - the voicing is often very different and having a preamp with lean bass coupled with a well-tuned depth circuit makes a huge difference in tone and feel.

So as always both is the answer.

I agree 1000 %. It's a differnt experience same guitar into boosted 2203 VS modded Marshall.
