Price Check: Mesa MK IIC+ Coli KG

there are such a small amount of b's that got modded to c+'s. they only did it in the 80's, to literally a few dozen B's. thats it. I had one back in the mid 2000's, and all that info comes from mike b's mouth when i first spoke with him, way back then. So i'd imagine that the b to c+ thing might hold some extra value because of how rare they are. That is a fucking beautiful amp.

Current market price for a Mike B. serviced C+ coli with the EQ is more in the $11-12K range. The market has softened a little this year compared to a few high water mark sales in the last couple years.

Parallel to this, the serviced B colis are going in the $6-7K range and serviced III colis in the $3500-4K range. Historically the C+ has always tracked about 3X the price of a comparable IIB, III or IV, however in the last few years guys who own them all are figuring out that the most bad ass amp Mesa ever made is the IIB Coli so prices have tracked up.
 
Had this exact amp too at one point bought it from the guy who bought it from Blake. Payed and sold it for 6K
 
This guy is an admin in a IIC+ group on FB. They like to circle jerk and facilitate completely outlandish prices. After owning and playing dozens of these amps, I can confidently say that none of them are worth spending this much money on. Anyone who says otherwise has a vested interest and their opinion shouldn't be considered.

Get a IV for similar tone and loudness. Get a Schumacher JP2C for closer tone.

Thanks! I have a Mesa MK IIC++ DRG that I got from Steve K. before he passed, and it’s amazing! I should just slave that through my Strategy 400, and call it a day!

No, I had a 2B KRG modded to C+ in 2019. A forum member has it now.
That said, they are indeed rare and are a little beefier in the power section, due to the filtering differences between the 2B and C/C+.

you could get both of those for less than that hacked up 2c+(I jest-I jest!!)...what can a 2c+ do that a IIb coli and a III blue stripe coli could not do? imo....
