Sort of, except magnetic south is in the southern ocean, not at the bottom of the globe so I can still track a southerly course until I am going north again in all reality even on a disc shape.

You know by now I was arguing the concept.

I admit that it is good evidence for a spherical earth. I am not sure that it is as conclusive as one might think, but that is a subjective point. I'll think about it some more and follow up.

If you are willing to look past "Prof. Dave" and his acerbic style, there's a really good case study on how the flat earth community operates. Once you get into the 30-45min mark you'll see the ridiculous extent the true believers will go to in order to discredit any challenge to their deeply held emotional views. But, judge on your own accord.

The compass points magnetic N-S it doesn't care what the shape of the object it's on is.

Popping in for a quick note: It kinda does care, in that only certain shapes are allowed. The shape of the magnetic field is determined by the geometry of the currents creating it and any time-varying electric fields inducing it. Picking where you want north and south to be is to an extent picking what shape you want your magnetic field to be, and that shape could be non-trivial to impossible depending on what exactly you want.

The midnight sun precludes a flat earth with one sun. On the other hand it does not prove that the earth is a sphere. A ball earth is one way to account for the phenomenon and so are two or more suns. FWIW several ancient cultures believed there was more than one sun.

I'm not picturing it precluding a flat earth but since I never really thought about it I"m all ears. Since most of the early cultures mostly believed in some sort of flat earth they must've had their own way of defining it, probably in something obscured by modern mythological stories. It just seems odd to me that the latter days of earth have basically been spent denying what all early peoples believed. Mass deception is always a distinct possibility.

It's just some crap that popped up in my feed because people start mentioning stuff in type here and on a chromebook all the ads and suggested videos start to revolve around those topics. If I type "new car" about ten times I can promise you a Nissan ad to the sounds of Gary Clark jr is gong to pop up in the youtube trying to sell me a new car. It appears to me he is struggling with the tension of holding a lie but not wanting to lie to an 8 year old girl. It comes out as nonsense but suggests if not outright admits they never went. Do you have a link to the unedited video?

Maybe he was suspecting someone put her up to asking it. Then again I really wanted to be an astronaut until I hit third grade and started to realize the people teaching globe earth and many other topics in the classroom were just repeating some post modern bullshit stories without actually knowing anything about it themselves. I would've def asked a question like that.

There are unfortunately a few people in this thread that cannot handle any challenge to the status quo even though they haven't demonstrated any knowledge other than four letter combos for themselves, lol. Please keep six feet of distance, a mask over your face and get your safe and effective vaccines squirt squirt. There are some legit participants but I think a couple people need to be sent to TGP where the crystal lattice dome is shattered if you make one post saying you sometimes question globe earth.

We've moved on from early people because we wonder, hypothesize, test, and retest. IE: We get smarter as time goes on.

I don't disbelieve that people can be subject to mass deception. The allies probably wouldn't have won WWII without it, much like the axis powers wouldn't have gotten as far as they did without deception. Bad example I suppose.

And yeah, I try to be really careful about what I watch on Youtube. The last thing I want is to search YT for the same topic repetitively or I will get bombarded with 'suggestions'.

I have been studying the Book of Enoch. It is interesting how, within the book, the education of seasons of earth, the path of the sun and stars is explained. I sometimes wonder if that was a cause for it's supression, as that knowledge would have been tatamount to power. I have also been studying some of the Ethopian Bible texts, very interesting material.
