So I already had two UK made Mesa spec 16 ohm vintage 30's that I was going to mix with other speakers and I just decided to put those on the bottom and the new 2024-25 UK production T3904 16 ohm Vintage 30's on the top of a Marshall 1960A cabinet after reading alot of good reviews and videos. I found a speaker store on Ebay with these new stock of UK made V-30's and bought two of them. I just got done installing them a couple of days ago and they compare quite close to the UK Mesa spec V-30's. The Mesa have a bit more lows to them, no mid spike and no shrilly highs but they are also well broken in. Right of the box the new 2024 UK V-30's have no nasty mid spike and no shrilly highs and they are nice and tight without being sterile sounding. The fact they sound so good right out of the box says alot. :2thumbsup:

I know everybody hates this guy but he did a decent clip of them.

eh they're okay. Nothing ground breaking. I have a 2x12 w/ UK V30's no complaints.
I had 2 Carvin 4x12 cabs with Carvin British series & V30's in an x pattern. Couldn't give them away.
The new EVH Celestion Blackbacks blow them all away.
Having said all that the V30 is probably the most recorded rock speaker in history.
No bad when broken in.

That's a pretty stark contrast between the new UK V30 and the Chinese one in Glenn's video. Not subtle at all.

i mean they are cool, but they arent that cool, and the obsession guys have to me is just a bit over the top at this point. i mean rig-talkers are now not only watching Glen, but actually taking his advice, thats when you know its just completely out of control lol

I haven't gone down the 100 different variants of V30 shootout. I had a set from 2006 that were in a 4x12 and a set from 2022. Both are really good. They sound slightly different but theyre still both very obviously vintage 30s. I get why some people dont like that mid spike though

I like V30's, but they're not my go to speaker of choice. I've gravitated to Weber Grey Wolfs. They're like the best parts of a CL80, G12H30, and Blue with a hint of V30 all rolled into one. What speaker do you tend to go towards?

i have a 90s Crate BV 4x12 with them, a Ibanez Thermion 4x12 from the mid 00's, a few other random ones i dont even really remember buying, ive not directly compared them all cause i just dont care enough to, but thats because like you said.. they are all obviously v30s. that mid peak that dosent sound good with one guitar, amp or mic might be just perfect with another. i mean if guys wanna trip buying however many sets of different v30s looking for that magic i say go for it, i cant be bothered though lol

i have i think 8 different celestions here?? i dont really have a favorite, i like G12-65's more often than not, but if you go listen to the Metallica thread i just did comparing a few speakers the 65 dosent sound good, where the G12 Vintage, which im usually not a fan of, sounds great with that particular set up. This K100 is surprising me lately. i had a greenback and G12H30 in my recording cab, i yanked them cause they are horrible. i would like to try some Webers and Jensens for some different flavors

I’ve been playing guitar for almost 40 years. I have NEVER liked V30’s……old UK, Marshall V12, Mesa spec, etc. I recently got one of the new UK versions in a Mojotone Twin Canyon 2x12. I have since ordered 4 more…..one from the eBay seller linked earlier. They are great.

My favorites are the UK Greenback Reissue, EVH, Jensen Nighthawk, and Heritage G12H 75hz……..but the new V30’s are knocking on the door right out of the box. And they will only get better.

John Browne and Glenn's findings are spot on with my own, having reamped tons of Mesa V30s from different years. I'm excited about the new ones.

Besides this eBay dude, who is retailing these?
Sweetwater’s and GC won’t say where their’s are made. Is the $169 price telling or were the Chinese ones that much too?

It’s been a long time since I played through V30’s however, they’re brilliant with the right amp and context.

My top two speakers of late are the G12H30 75hz and EVH’s.

I dislike the G12H Anni’s but they’re ok if that’s all that’s available.
