Yeah, it's the kind of thing that you need 50 friends to help you actually build. I'm really fascinated by the passive heating/cooling idea plus the clean, grey, black water recycling.

A couple of my lifelong friends and I have discussed the idea of purchasing property and developing a simple commune. Like, a bunch of tiny houses with a separate recording studio, haha. I don't think it's going to happen.

I think you'd be better off finding a home that is partially buried but then you have problems if/when there is water intrusion. I have looked at a couple cave homes in the ozarks, that's probably the ticket until the cave collapses, lol.

I don't think the black water recycling on those earthships has worked out very well but you could easily install a regular septic and just use grey water for plants and gardening. I ran my tub to a french drain at this place here. Keeps the grass green on that side of the house...too green, it gets 4 feet high in two weeks, lol, but my septic pump doesn't have to work as often.

Yes, that would be back in the days when the US president was welcomed in every democracy worldwide, and paying more for those countries' military protection than the country itself. Like real life, when you tell a friend he can no longer sponge off you, you will most likely lose that "friend".

Hey... What wars has the US fought for Australia? We have have fought in Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, both Iraqs. We also fought WW1 and WW2 while you sat on the fence. We host your countrymen in Pine Gap so you have intelligence. Tell me - what have you done for us lately other than treat us like pricks and second class allies so to speak? No - because it was self serving. You only fought Japan because of Pearl Harbor - it's doubtful you would have fought for us otherwise. You didn't fight for any of us when you had the choice before Pearl Harbor.

Also do you realise we fought against the Japs in PNG and we were bombed by them at Darwin repeatedly. Yet we fought in Europe and in the Pacific Theatre. We pulled more than our own weight.

Of course, public sentiment was screaming "don't get involved in another world war!" Roosevelt couldn't get congress to declare war on ANYONE until Pearl Harbor, impossible.

Face it, you aussies would have been working for the japs for 3-4 years just like the philipinos had the US not intervened.
We loaded up Australia with thousands of soldiers and US ships and helped turn back the invasion that was starting in Darwin. And your non-appreciation is why it's easy to turn our back on you now. Fuckin ingrates.

You had to do it because of the war in the Pacific against the Japanese who attacked you. You didn't do it willingly to help us at all. So you are the ingrates. Thank us for our service before you pulled your finger out because you wanted to help yourself. Even if there's war between China in the Pacific you'll only do it so China doesn't get a foothold - not to help us. Same old US.

Say thank you to us for Vietnam, Korea, Afghanistan and both Iraq wars. Ingrates
