He played a local club a while back and I know the promoter. Said Viv was a huge prick that complained about everything.

That goes along with the stories over the years that he’s an asshole.
You could be the sweetest peach on the tree. Some people don't like peaches.

"Rainbow in the Dark" was the song, along with"You Got Another Thing Coming" that was a fork in the road. There was no metal like it. Modern metal was finally here! Not Sabbath, Zeppelin, nothing was like Dio's sound! You had Lynyrd Skynyrd, Clapton, etc., going one way and Judas Priest/Dio headed down another way. A clear line in the sand.

I loved Dio and Priest. Then came Merciful Fate, Metallica, Megadeth, etc. The guys I played in bands with thought it was a passing fad.

You're not wrong as 3/4 of the word shit is also in their name.
Man I’ve seen a bunch of Phish shows. Niagara Falls ‘95 was my first.
Rest of the 90’s was phantastic!

Get into the 2000’s and it goes to shit.

Was in HS in the early 80's and maiden ruled the road and we left priest by turbo lover album. Weak compared to Maiden
Loved Dio and Viv despite all his devil crap

ANYONE who plays, listens to or even acknowledges the existence of that god awful hippie jam music is an asshole
I really don’t need to listen to Phish to be an asshole.

It comes naturally.

That's what that smell was?

You obviously dont have to believe first hand accounts of people I know and he couldve been making the entire thing up. I believe him.

I've met quite a few celebrities over the years. Some of the coolest were Frank Bello from Anthrax and P.J. Soles from Halloween, Stripes, etc. Both two of the funniest and nicest people.

Tupac was really nice and believe it or not VP Dan Quayle. Jack Osbourne was another great one and just a regular dude. I thought Joe Montana was going to give me crap or hit me when I took a photo of him in a Casino. Instead he came over and just told me the Casino didnt want people taking photos and out his arm around my shoulder and invited me to hang out the next day on the golf course with all of them.

The only asshole I've ever met was the dude who played "D-Day" in Animal House, Bruce McGill. He started yelling at a group of us at a celebrity event and how we were supposed to leave them alone until the next day. Was a total prick.

Dio was very bitter when people left him. Listen to what Doug Aldrich says when he left for Whitesnake -- right about the 2:30 mark

I really dig Doug Aldrich and you can tell he is a cool dude. I think Ronnie was a complicated guy and he struggled for so long, trying to make it. When he finally did, it was a series of peaks and then valleys. I think he was really protective of the DIO name and the hard work behind it. Not an excuse but he definitely was who he was for a reason.

I met Doug at NAMM in 2020, he made me feel like i was his best buddy. He was running to an event and asked me to keep our discussion while he was walking. Cool dude for sure.

The worst i met were those snobby YouTubers. Some of these dudes sure have a huge ego.

Dal Maxville was a complete prick. He's the only "Celebrity" I met that was though. Ace Frehley, Brett Hull, Adam Oates, Lou Brock, Mike Shannon ( my dad grew up with him and I played ball with his brother's kid) John Frusciante (was thwacked out of his mind, but he was cool) Mike Inez, Jerry Cantrell and Sean Kinney ( Sean Kinney was sort of stand off-ish, but he wasn't a dick or anything) Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Wes Scantlin, Mel Bay. All cool guys.

Yup, his record speaks for itself. Also shits on Iommi throughout the years.

Which ones? They are always stuck at home behind cameras and keyboards, so they aren't used to being around people maybe?

Love Vivian Campbell...as a player. Im biased of course, being from the same small place. His accent isnt as messed up as Gary Moore.

Who knows what he's really like, everyone is capable of being an asshole, multiple times during the course of a day.

Back in the early 90s he tried to pickup my best friends sister at a local club. She didn't know who he was so he went out to the limo and and signed a headshot for her and gave her his cd. She thought he was ugly and told him no thanks and asked me the next day if I knew who he was because she knew I was into that music.

I caught his pick at the 87 Whitesnake concert.

Good to know he is not a homo.
