I didn’t ignore the math. I didn’t even disagree with you really. I do think kids are smarter today than they used to be, but that doesn’t mean a graph of standardized testing would show it. The recent push to make every lesson plan catered to raise standardized testing scores is no doubt in response to it, and I think that really sucks. It inhibits education imo

Kids today have to be, and are so much more socially aware than they used to be. I’ve heard middle schoolers have very eloquent discussions on politics and foreign affairs. They are very aware of a person’s power in society.
