Uh huh. I just said I would if you would actually post an original composition instead of playing guitar hero on your controller. I have posted my real name, btw. So, not sure what that's even suppose to mean, Chet.

I don't care for writing original compositions. I'm not interested it. Writing music has nothing to do with playing guitar or playing music. Composition is separable skill. I came from playing blues. After 25 years of improvising blues I find it very very boring. I grew out of it. There is zero shame in playing in playing covers of great musicians. They themselves weren't improvising this type of music. They wrote arrangements and frequently of popular songs and old folk standards.

If you think coming up with a few lame chord progressions and shredding over them is original well you are plain deluded. In terms of doing that there is nothing new under the sun. I would be no more impressed with that than watching a typist type at 200 words per minute. That's just a different type of trained monkey. A process line worker who does the same thing so many times they can do it quickly. Big deal - no different to what I'm doing - practicing something until you have muscle memory and you understand what you are doing.

Honest opinion...
@Thumbpicker playing is pretty good for that style of music, but doesn't really hold a candle to the full arrangements that @NowYou'rePlayingWithPower has posted.

I don't care one way or another if people play covers or originals, they're both fun. I just know it's a completely different skill set and requires more creative talent to compose a full arrangement of instruments than to copy someone else's song.

I agree that Thumbpicker is good and don't actually or truly care about him covering songs if it keeps him happy, playing, and posting clips. I'm just giving him a hard time because of the loaded diaper clip that he posted earlier :ROFLMAO: Also, just trying to fill @ChuggNorris shoes in keeping with the spirit of being arrogant and calling everyone out in Riff Warz. :ROFLMAO: Has anyone seen him, btw? Dude, I understand you are knee deep in some shit talking war you kinda started, considering YOU are not the person/people she was talking to or about in this thread, but if you are going to make bold claims about your own playing, making comments like this just makes you look ignorant ( in the literal sense of the word.) I could give you a year to upload a video of you doing a flawless rendition of, let's say Diary of a Madman by Randy Rhoads and I guarantee you couldn't do it. You are conflating your dislike for a broad genre of music with lack of talent. In reality I don't think Lisa or anyone here believes Chet or many of the bluegrass flatpickers are talentless. The fact is you started a back and forth thing with her that has now escalated, when in reality you should have just kept out of it. Because she wasn't even talking to or about you.

My question is did you do it knowingly ? Because if you did you are absolutely doing the thing you are currently accusing her of.
