I think the MOST annoying thing in that forum right now is as soon as someone posts an Axe 2 clips .you get the" well My ultra can do that ,really does not sound any better than my Ultra yada yada. The must keep convincing themeselves there is "NO" difference

Oh Yeah and Jay Mitchell who posts a comparision between Axe2 and Ultra Marshall sims ..Then removes it when he has enough people intrested and asking which is which ..only to "prove" a point but get this it was not meant to be a test ..So he gives no answer the usual I know it you don't attitude i see from him.
If I buy an Axe2 my main preset will be the FUJM ..Maybe I will let him guess what it stand for ..lol

It really doesn't sound all that much better, and I don't own either. Sure, the AxeII sounds good (from the Tone Merchants and Pete videos) but it's not so good that if I were an Axe 1 owner I'd be A. sobbing in my Cheerios and/or B. be rushing to sell it.

Some of the butt hurt people act as if Cliff designed a kill switch inside the original Axe, and now that the II is coming their brand new $1500-$2000 no longer can make a sound.

I have my standard for almost 3,5 years. I still like it and use it. The Standard and Ultra was dead a year ago, that was the last update before v11. I was planning buying an MFC and stuff, but I will not spend a dime on FA gear from now on.
Trust is gone.

If you have a standard and like it, then don't worry about missing out on the Axe-2. I played it, and it's no better than what you have. As far as your standard losing it's value, well it's a rack unit and that's to be expected. Tech goes junk when it gets updated.

I received my Ultra on 04/04/11. Needless to say when I found out about the newer unit, naturally I was upset. Given the time frame that it was purchased, I sent Fractal an email on Monday, explaining my situation blah, blah, blah....

This was there response.

The return period is 15 calendar days from the date of receipt. You are beyond the eligible date.

No apologies, not even willing to take it back with a restocking fee, nothing.

I did get what I paid for and like the unit, but not happy with how they handled it.

That is not good- they should have come up with an offer for a new one, a return with a restocking fee etc.


Those of you who ASKED if a new unit was coming out and were told NO and bought an Ultra at the END do have a customer service issue/ Fractal should treat supporters better IMO.

i know cliff gets alot of flack for deleting posts on HIS forum. In Cliffs defense, his forum is intended to be an information tool only for his product. Cliff doesnt want any drama on HIS forum and thats for places like this and other forums we all know.

I cant imagine working 12 to 15 hours a day six days a week for three years on something that started out as a vision in that football sized brain of his. He creates this amazing product and wants to release it to the world and for the past few weeks its been nothing grown men bitching and complaining and second guessing and trying to create conspiracies etc. using words like debacle is sad, putting out a product that no one buys, now thats a debacle.

maybe things couldve been handled differently by Fractal and Tone Merchants, but neither of us have marketing firms and 500 employees. But the more I think about the way everything has gone done except for a miscommunication that was entirely my fault, Fractal hasnt done anything wrong from is business sense or anything unethical.

i think everyone just needs to be thank full there are guys out there like Cliff and a few others that are creating products that are pushing technology and changing the way we create tone. And this is coming from a guy who is a partner in two different tube amp companies.

Great post Rob... I still think censoring posts with valid information regarding the Axe-fx is unprofessional and leads to some of the "backlash" that FAS has received. But like Chris Rock says... "I'm not saying I agree... but I understand."

P.S. I appreciate that we have a place like RT where they are not so quick to censor every post that puts things in the light of truth... whether it be bad or good...
