The sun is out, but the crew is not feeling it for a pool day. So, focusing on some kitchen pursuits to fill my time. Going to work on some pan-seared scallops. I’m landlocked, so frozen dry sea scallops are the go to. Specifically, pan-seared scallops with a compound “Cowboy” butter…

Mise en place is a game changer in the kitchen!

During my year in Maine, I was in a coastal town for business and got to eat at this restaurant that was literally in the water/part of a dock and got some bacon wrapped sea scallops....omg they were so good!

Gimme 2 or 3 better vegemite combos
Vegemite and butter.
Vegemite and butter.
Vegemite and butter.

No such thing as a vegemite combo. If you have tuna mornay for dinner and icecream for dessert you don't mix the two together and have tuna mornay icecream. Yeeeeccchh

Now I am going to predict something. Thumbpicker is gonna say too much vegemite. Monkey might also. But this butter is this and this is sourdough bread. I just want really the two people qualified to comment on this, to take this into consideration.

No - I think that looks perfect. That's pretty much exactly how I'd have it and I make my own sourdough as you know. It's excellent on sourdough.

It looks like it but doesn’t really taste like it. I don’t particularly like marmite. Marmite is like beef stock. Vegemite doesn’t taste like beef stock at all.
Thanks for this.
Is it just a toast spread or can you cook with it?

Well I guess some people use it in cooking but most people just put it on their toast or sandwiches. If you do get some put it on like in my avatar with some butter or like how Japetus did it further up. Don't slather it on like it's nutella or something. That'd be horrible.
