Dude I ran V30’s in an X pattern with Splawn Small Blocks. That cabinet kicked all kinds of ass

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I've figured out my top options. If I go 412 with the V30's I'll mix them with some Celestion S12-150 Sidewinders; that's Celestion's take on the EVM12L. If I go 212/115 it'll either be a Weber Blue Dog 15" or Wolverine. Those are Weber's take on a Celestion Blue and EVM-15L respectively.

Of course I don't have to commit to anything right this moment so there's still some room to explore other options. So if anyone has other suggestions I'm still open to them.

Both the Sidewinder and Wolverine are stamped frame speakers. Neither will deliver the immediate response, punch, articulation, and clarity at all volumes that a real cast frame will deliver.

I’m more of a fan of pairing similarly voiced speakers together ie bright-british with bright-british. A good example being V30 with CV-75. I’m excited to try V30 with Karnivore when I get some.

The problem I find with pairing bright with dark speakers is that you get the worst of both worlds with any given amp EQ settings. Your overall tone is both harsh and muddy, with either getting worse when trying to correct for the other.
