IIC+ HRG RI (..and DR RI) in the hizzouse!

I prefer the HRG. Sound more cohesive where there’s a feeling of separation from the sub lows and mids of the Recto. Honestly they both sound good, It’s just what hit me after a listen.

That 100 watt Mark III is awfully tempting
Are these a "limited" run?

All of these clips are great and very helpful for those deciding on what to buy. Thanks for your hard work! 💪

It also strikes me that the HRG tone would be easier to mix with a bass guitar.

Any truth to the rumor that a 10 year anniversary / update to the JP-2C is coming next year? (JP-2C was released in 2016).

I'm more of a Marshall guy, but I do enjoy my JP-2C, smooth, tight and just the right amount of compression for the Mesa sounds I like.

Next up, HRG RI vs the DR RI. What would you pick?

Dude THANK YOU Jeremy

They both sound great, tbh I'm not sure which one I like better

Maybe the recto in the mix and the HRG iso

I'm maybe leaning towards the HRG but not by a lot

Well shoot. I was on the verge of pulling the trigger on a Mark V 90 after dusting off my rev G the last few weeks and getting back into high gain. Now I'm torn if I should fork out another 2k and just get this HRG.. Seems like alot more hate than love for those V's out there..

Love the videos @GJgo . I'm not going to lie, I've always wanted a chrome plated DR, and love how the new ones sound. I'm fortunate to have found a really good, tight early Rev G that i've sold and bought back many times. Not sure I could justify that kind of coin on another, as my other recto experiences haven't worked out. I "think" I'd rather just have something different to add to my arsenal.

Aaaand finally, the JP-2C comparo!

This one deserves some commentary. I've had 2 JPs previously and have always felt like the V and the JP are the best Marks for 7/8 string work due to the extra compression, even though the tone I felt was a bit flat compared to the OGs. I felt the same today, and we really cranked both amps LOUD.

That said, in normal tunings everyone in the room agreed that the HRG had MUCH better clarity and dynamics. It made the JP seem muddy in comparison.

I do know of a particularly good MkV 90w head for sale in a custom color if you're interested. I used to own it, now the Guitar Center by me has it.

That said, the HRG has way better tone & feels. (..but the V is a lot more versatile.)

OG for me here.

OG just sounds more dynamic between the palm mutes and the power chords making it more musical and less compressed.
I agree- for recording. That said I think the RI may be better live, will know pretty soon. OG C+ mids have always gone from "disappeared" to "honk" for me in too narrow of a space, played in a live mix.

Is it the touchiness of the sliders as to why? Cant throw an EQ pedal in the loop to dial out the honk?
