Boogie curious. Nomad, .50 cal or DC-5

Had three Nomads, one 45 1x12 that was good, and another 45 1x12 and a 100 head that were not good. The first was bulletproof and sounded great (search Mesa Nomad on Youtube and my clip is the first thing that pops up), the next one wasn't, and the 100 sounded like ass. They're not popular amps...

NGD - Tom Anderson Pro Am in Bubble Gum Pink

Sweeeeeet!!! As the new owner of a Rock-It Pink Peavey Vandenberg, I highly approve of this guitar. I'm actually gonna stick an H2+ in another guitar of mine, too.

Mark Day is now working for Fractal....moved to east coast.

Too cool....I'm not far away from Fractal. My nephew visited them when he bought his AxeFX, and also ran into the owner at a NIN concert. I love Mark's videos, and he seems like a cool dude.

    George Lynch/Michael Sweet project "STiLL"

I like it! Big fan of both Lynch and Sweet. I like hearing that "dated" '80s sound, personally. That's what they do best and what most of their fans want to hear.

    EVH Fair Warning replica coming,

This is really cool, but the couple of EVH sigs that I've played both had seriously crappy fretwork. The edges were sharper than almost any production guitar I've ever felt. The Floyd was also tilting back against the body. Really turned me off to them.

    New Mastodon Record is awesome!!

Been listening in the car, nothing stands out as amazing. A couple of cool passages/riffs. Love the artwork.

DAVID COVERDALE Has Found Replacement For Doug Aldrich

That first clip.....I knew it was BAD, but......I had no idea it was THAT bad! I was actually laughing at a few parts. David....bubby.....c'mon, hang it up, old codger. That was embarrassing.

DAVID COVERDALE Has Found Replacement For Doug Aldrich

No, Captain A-Hole, you've got the wrong person. leg·end·ary adjective \ˈle-jən-ˌder-ē, -ˌde-rē\ : told about in a legend : very famous or well-known Because WD isn't very famous or well-known, right?

DAVID COVERDALE Has Found Replacement For Doug Aldrich

I'm gonna throw out either Joel Hoekstra or John Norum.

DAVID COVERDALE Has Found Replacement For Doug Aldrich

I can't see DeMartini doing it again. He didn't seem to fit for some reason. I recall he also didn't work out for Dio, which led to Doug Aldrich joining, oddly enough. There was a press release where either Dio or Aldrich basically said he didn't cut it. I thought it was pretty unprofessional...

How to change pups in the newer Gibby LP's?

When I stuck Seth Lovers in my SG Standard, I just put new molex ends on them and plugged them in. I was afraid the bridge might be too bright anyways, so it worked out keeping the 300k tone pots in there. I still have to turn them down to 7-8 at times, so I don't think I'm missing anything...

    Mesa Electradyne vs Bogner Shiva

I agree about the red channel on the Electradyne not having enough gain. I also couldn't find the blend I wanted between clean/crunch/dirty. If I had the gain up to where the red channel was BARELY giving enough, the blue channel had TOO much gain for a nice semi-distorted tone. Part of the...

White Lion Live 1988 Full Concert

I think the EMGs were a big part of that tone. Speaking of EMGs and MTV concerts at the Ritz.......check out the Great White show when they opened for Gn'R from this same year. Mark Kendall is using EMG-loaded custom Music Works guitars into Marshalls, and the tone is freaking amazing.

Did I just see a Hetfield sig Mesa Boogie?

I'd like to see them do what they did for Santana, and release a Hetfield amp without calling it a "James Hetfield Signature Model". Have him sign them, promo them, everything short of actually naming it a signature model. Everyone will know what it is. It just seems a little less contrived that...

    Worst pickup you've played

Totally agree about the Little '59. Turned my Esquire into the most unresponsive one-trick pony ever.

    Worst pickup you've played

Just think of all of those classic recordings and tones that were made using JBs, and how much better they'd be if they had the latest, greatest handmade boutique pickup du jour!! Right?

    New JP Majesty

I kinda like it. Looks comfortable to play. It's a bit challenging looks-wise, but flows pretty well. Might be better without the "shield" and DT inlay.

I totally disagree. The song are really strong and memorable.

    Identify this Scotti Hill guitar

The reverse slant is a Steve Stevens thing. It actually makes sense, because the bass side gets more bite and the treble side gets less treble. I think it looks cool. Here's my own mutt-

    Identify this Scotti Hill guitar

I think he only used it around 91-92. Looks like it was originally white. I need to see if I still have this issue of GW-
