I’ve been playing 6-string for over 20yrs, and I’m starting to get interested in trying 7’s. I play in an active crossover Thrash band, and I’m all set with my tone, etc for that.
My question is, I’m going to be starting another project leaning more towards Death Metal, really dark stuff. My...
Yeah, I’m not into the Nitro’s too much man, but I’m still not sure what you mean about the Pro Mod vs. a Quick Rod. Do you mean versus a Quick Rod w/EL34’s? It’s the same amp if they are both KT88 loaded.
I prefer KT88’s in my 05 QR. I just ordered a custom 50w SS that will have 2 KT88’s for on the road, gonna be nasty. I’ve also owned a few el34 equipped QR’s that sounded great. I’ve never heard a bad splawn. Nitros aren’t my thing, weird mids, and just don’t have what the Quick Rods do.

Interested in possible trades. Guitars, Amps, pedals, etc. I can...
I did notice in a few cases, when my pedals running from the isolated loop were on the same power supply as pedals to the front of the amp, I got a lot of ground noise/squealing.
I did notice it draws a small portion of the highs out on a couple of my amps, but nothing crazy. Otherwise no degradation in sound. Something really cool is there’s huge volume sweep from 7 up on my Ceriatone Chupacabra 50, so with the PS2 I can get into that tonal range in the studio without...
Never really had a need for attenuation, I can play loud in my studio, but I’ve been messing with this guy today. (Fryette PS-2). Picked it up at the Greater Pittsburgh Guitar show. It’s a cool piece of gear. If I ever decide to listen to a sound guy, It could even be cool in the live rig...
I’ve been using the Line 6 G50 for about 5 years. Here, Europe, all over. My gear is not babied, it’s built tough. No noticeable sound degradation, and not one issue.
I’ll be snagging one of these when they hit the used market for sure. EVH gear is always crazy cheap after the buzz fades. I loved the 50w 6l6, and full size stealth.
Damn! Really?! Runt 50 is my favorite Friedman by far. I preferred it over the JJ 100, BE100, and the Butterslax that I spent a lot of time with. Haven't tried the Smallbox yet.
I don’t think the OS is flubby at all, just a more thunderous tight. I’ve spent time with the traditional cabs and dig those as well, just a different vibe. Quicker bass response. A lot of that depends on your playing of course.
