While I own and love my Racktifier, I can’t say it’s one of my favorites.

And that’s not for the sounds you can’t get out of it, I think it’s more than a one trick pony, especially with the clean channel and mid gain vintage orange tones.

It’s the spongy soft bass response that bother me, while I prefer a faster attack.

Yes, the preamp is nearly identical to SLO but they sound miles away.
The power amp is different and has under-spec:d transformers. That's why it doesn't sound like an SLO. <i think it was Dave Friedman who said it best when he called the back end of the amp for "weak". Right on the money IMO.

One of my best Marshall-esque type tones was the Orange channel on my old Rev.C. For an even more bizarre and "yea right" moment, I used an oversize Recto cab on top and the bottom was an old front firing V4 cab loaded with Altecs. I had one certain guitar with EMGs and that combo got me some great Marshall type tones. It wasnt a dead on clone of my 68 Plexi, but much closer to a JCM on up. Man I miss that amp!!

True to a point..and the point ends when you plug into an early Triple. Now, you are much closer to an SLO than any dual. Yes they are different still but that monster power section brings it way closer.

The Rev Cs are the real deal. So unless someone has compared a Rev C side by side with whatever amp for comparison... they are completely missing out. The Rev Cs are really different. Just like the earl Rev F Triples. Mesa changed the circuit because they thought it sounded "too metal"... as if that's a bad thing?

They are much tighter, more aggressive, more cutting and way different sounding than a run of the mill 2 channel Rev G Dual. And there are only around 200 Rev Cs flatting around still in existence. Love my 2.

Rectifiers. Only as good as the boost in front of it. :hys:

Krull aka Sakeido aka Duche-a-Saurus-Rex from Calgary Cana-duh.

Why don't you regale this forum with your lies of $1000 Rev F Rectifiers... and I'm sure they'd love to hear more about that here.

Bye. :jerkit: :gay:

I had 2 Rev. C's and both never needed a boost. They were definitely capable of being tight without the bottom end being loose and had more than enough gain.
