Most definitely. The first time I saw them was on the South Of Heaven tour at a club and it was one of the best shows I've ever seen - Motorhead and Overkill opened so the entire show was awesome but Slayer was just on another level. Caught them on the Clash Of The Titans and it was a great show but definitely way more intense in a smaller venue.

This is the show - it was at Club NRG, not the Axiom as listed - wish the quality was better but still cool to see after all of these years:

I saw that tour at the Aragon in Chicago, amazing show. Slayer was on another level than everybody back then. Not only was their live show jaw dropping, but their coolness factor was off the charts.
We didn’t miss a Slayer show back then, it was like a holiday for us. I don’t think I missed a Slayer tour until Diabolus came out.

Top 3 concert memory is seeing Slayer for the Seasons tour in Boston. Orpheum theater I think it was (saw Pantera there too). Just pure heavy metal shangri-la. The crowd was a sea of long hair and leather jackets all head banging in unison. Kerry hadn’t shaved his head yet. I used to want one of those ESP V’s so bad until I held one at NAMM and realized, when you make a guitar completely out of maple, it’s heavy as fuck..lol

and Gordon Lightfoot today....

This just popped up on my feed.

You ever watched or read anything about that wreck? Everyone knows it sank and the entire crew died.
But the circumstances leading up to the end - the final few hours. Crazy.

yeah-I believe the history channel did a documentary on it. nothing they could do.....

nothing they could do.....

Not sure why but had never really thought of the Great Lakes as really a bunch of little oceans each unto itself.
They say the storm they were trying to ride through that day was as bad as can happen anywhere else on earth!

I saw them just a couple weeks before this show in 91. The show I went to was in Tinley Park IL.
This is really "at their best" IMO.
