15 watts is all you'll ever need

Jeez, I have 4 amps and feel like that's too much.
I only have three and one of them needs work.

I'm fairly certain the majority of members on this board have owned more gear in five years of their life than I have owned in my entire lifetime. I'm also fairly certain I have done more gigs in five years of my life than most of the board has done in their lifetime.

I downsized my amps. Thought i was doing the right thing. Ohhh yea i can drive them at smaller gigs and all

Went from 100s down to 25s and 35s.

It didn't take me long to figure out im missing the percussive punch.

Especially the way i like to play rhythm in a Nile Rodgers style with a heavy right hand

Yeah i can drive them but theyre not moving any air

Slowly going back to 100s and just keep the vol manageable
100% this. I don't have any real issues with low watt amps; they have their place. Like you, I find they lack the percussion and punch you get out of 100 watt amps. I will say I do like the low watt true class A amps. They still don't have the same punch as a higher watt amp, but them make up for that in touch sensitivity; at east in my experience.

Nah, you're good. I have a tendency to go overboard sometimes and I don't sell anything. For 20+ years the only amps I owned were my Crate Blue Voodoo 300 & 150; one as the main the other as backup. Everything else built up over the last 10 years a little at a time as I saved up.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's awesome. I just can't contemplate having that many amps. I guess it's because I've always had way more guitars than amps, and lately I'm wondering if I should flip that around. But, then I saw those shelves and I got a little shell shocked.

I need to start a band. I just play too much hockey, so I'd probably have to drop that first.

That and actually learn some songs or something.

Honestly anyone can get away with 3-4 amps to cover the main categories of tone and be set for life. In my experience the difference are generally pretty subtle and more about personal preference.

I have way too many guitars too. Though at least half of them I built myself. I've been hobby building since 2004. So 1-2 a year for 20 years adds up.

Sup with that leopard print Zinky?
It's #65 Mofo. I picked up at a local consignment shop for about $700. The amp itself was in good shape, but the tolex was pretty beat up. I recovered it with some leopard print upholstery vinyl.
