Sadly I got fucked out of my new guitar day that the guy was supposed to ship and now I need a guitar. :no:

I really don't want a typical Ibanez or Jackson but I do play metal and I do want the nicest playing/sounding guitar as possible.

Was supposed to get a limited run NJ warlock deluxe neckthru that you may have seen me post about out of my excitement of sending the payment. On his NGD from 6 years ago he claimed it played just as good as his custom shop Jackson and DC guitars and was basically raving about it.

I'm not expecting to get that out of $700 but what are my options? I know I'll have to wait for the right deal and it will be a rare score to get something nice for the price but throw me some suggestions.

Was considering an old Carvin maybe.
 
-there's a NJ warlock neck through on the MAINE CRAIGSLIST, its been on there for a couple month's, $500.

I've never played the SG X but I know I can't jive with most Gibson necks.

It's the Radius mostly for me. 14"-16" range is what I'm used to any thing rounder is just not for me.

Not sure on the Gibson specs I will have to check them out but I've always known them to have a fatter radius.

Thanks for the suggestion though. Not sure what to do. Probably just need to save more money.

sg guy.I like that "shoot from the hip" attitude. I've gotten too wrapped up in profiles the last few years and have started to veer away from that aspect. I like thin necks, but sometimes a chunky neck feels good too.
 
Used EVH Wolfgang Special would fit that description well.
Definitely in that $ range. If you can get a Japanes or even Chinese version you
get stainless frets which tend to have a slicker (less friction) feel youthan standard frets. Most have maple
but some have ebony fretboards which is a cool option. Comfy necks too IMO.

Those do look really nice. Don't know much about them. I'm seeing a lot of them MIJ. Any knowledge of where the best ones were made?
 
Japan. Those MIJ Stealths are sick; I got a NOS on a blemish deal from ZZounds awhile back and never found the blemish on it. 1.625" nut, SS frets, ebony board and the pickups are awesome; same ones that come on the USA models. Hard tail with a locking but and adjustable Floyd type bridge but you know...hard tail. Keep in mind it's a sig and he wanted vintage sized frets; took me a minute to get used to but I really dig em. Had that thing down to A and its a champ.

For some reason I want to say the MIC ones have different pickups but don't quote me.
 
I would first look at Japanese made guitars, the followed closely by Korean. If you like metal looking guitars find yourself an Aria Pro II Urchin, or even a ZZ, bad ass guitars for little $, if you like contemporary looks with a little edge, pickup a Jackson Dinky. If you want a brand new guitar check out Agile, I have a pro 727 and it's a bad ass guitar, especially at the price point.
 
Japan preferably. The brige & tail piece are Tone Pros which lock to the studs via set screws. Mine has enough travel on the low E fine tuner to drop to D without unlocking the nut. Floyd models are great too if you want to go that rout.

Consider a peavey Wolfgang too.... Lots of good deals to be had there....
 
PRS SE Myers. They can go for around 400 used and really are great guitars. The stock pickups are great. I ran the guitar stock for about 2 years, swapped them for duncans and put the originals back in it.lol.

Never heard of Aria. The ones you mentioned are not for me. Although I love the Warlock I was going to buy I'm actually more of a Strat guy. Kind of weird I know but there was something about that specific warlock.

I did find an area that looks exactly like an old charvel. CT series. Seems scary though because it was so cheap. Need to do son research.

Yeah you can find Aria guitars for extremely good prices. This is likely because they are so underrated. They were made in the Matsumoku factory in Japan, which is known to have put out many great quality instruments. Try to find some locally if possible so you can go play them. I'd put most of the Aria guitars in the $200 price range up against just about any modern $5-700. My Urchin I scored for about cheap, and I love it.
 
Used Hamer Studio are great playing sounding guitars. Best $300.00 I ever spent.

Yeah those look hard to pass up and may be a better choice but I just want something different. I found this PRS SE that looks really nice. I need to get out to some music stores and play around to see what I can find.
