I see a twist on the PPIMV in that JTM45. Was it already like that or did you add it? I did similar in a power scaled amp I built and it worked so well it rendered the power scaling almost useless.

Yep, the power scaled amp I put it in was an Express 'clone', which is now a Komet circuit.MichaelR/T":dlx0x8hz said:SpiderWars":dlx0x8hz said:I see a twist on the PPIMV in that JTM45. Yeah, it was already in the amp when I got it. I liked the sound of it with my mods so I left it in.
It looks like a Ken Fischer style PPIMV, sounds pretty good in this amp.

Kinda cool for about 10 minutes but just not my thing. The power scaling is a bit tricky to dial in (you have to tweak the PPIMV everytime you adjust the power scaling knob because the overload point changes with the voltage). All for just a tiny bit better tone due to the 'perfect' (if you dial it in perfect) amount of power amp crunch/smoothing.MichaelR/T":2eyskw7l said:SpiderWars":2eyskw7l said:Yep, the power scaled amp I put it in was an Express 'clone', which is now a Komet circuit.MichaelR/T":2eyskw7l said:SpiderWars":2eyskw7l said:I see a twist on the PPIMV in that JTM45.
