Sounds good. I don't really hear EVH though :aww: I'm by no means an EVH fanatic though so I could be way off base. I think EVH tone has almost a fuzz around the notes and yours seems to be much clearer

Yeah, I think you're right.
There is just something missing in the note clarity and definition, it's not really exactly the same.

Hey, thank you for commenting.

Yeah agree. Your tone is defined.
Seems eddie had a bit more sag/squish.
Honestly I like the tighter attack better.

If you're interested in trying preamp tubes at all, the RFT ECC83's might get you a touch closer to EVH's sound. I've read many opinions and reviews of the tube, and they all say the change is noticeable and unique.

From all I've read, here's what to expect in a nutshell:

Break up very early, slightly compressed, lessened clarity
Fairly mid forward, a bit looser on the lows, softer on the highs

All those characteristics sound like they'd get you closer to original VH tone. Many Marshall guys love the tube as well.

I ordered some I'm waiting on myself.

Thanks for the advice, I'll definitely keep that in mind.
Let me know how they sound when you get them.

I think the low end sounds a little bigger than Eddies. The rest of the tone is real close. Nice playing also!!!!

I agree. Maybe the upper mids/sizzle are a bit less than early VH? But I think you have a close approximation.

To me the tone sounds great....like a modernized Van Halen tone... more clarity...Nice job!
