I think it depends what you're looking at. For example, some might say Indonesia-built guitars are excellent, such as Strandbergs. Another example is made in Korea Ibanez Prestiges, while some would say only the Japan variants deserve that tag. Brands like Dingwall make some of their basses in China, and they are supposed to be good.
