We know his work but when it comes to business he could care less...recall last Nov, he said he was doing a run? I ordered and paid in full upfront. What's the date today? I contacted him for updates and was all excuses but I said that I would wait because I wanted the product. Time passes and asked for another update and he offers a refund. I said, no that I can wait since I waited this long and now its been a while and ask again and he refunds my money. I get it, but the money isn't the point its the service and it means nothing to Peter.

These are the things that just keep me buying stuff off the shelf.

I know some stuff is worth waiting for for some people, but I guess I'm not one of those people.

Least he didn't play with your money. Probably figured it was easier to refund you than answer your messages.

I've gotten to the point where I just won't pay anyone up front for anything. If they don't have it in stock ready for sale I just pass no matter how much I may want something.

I think VFE has been unreliable for a while now, since he's closed up shop a few times now from what I remember, mostly he didn't have the time for it any longer. He makes cool pedals.... I have a Standout and had a Klon Merman which I was kind of meh on and sold it, just not a Klon person I guess.

Sorry you didn't get your pedal Exo, at least you got your money back and can put it towards something else.:2thumbsup:

I've got access to a bunch of VFE schematics ..... which one are you looking for

I've done the " Focus " which is a killer boost ....... nobody wanted anything to do with it .... and my graphics were a lot cooler than Crayon and Magic Marker ...

The scythe is simply the best all-around boost ever! Anytime you need a boost that doesn't soften the attack as much as a screamer type then the scythe is as good as it gets.
This thing has huge output too, so you can goose your amp to your darkest desires then simply trim away any excess lows or highs. It's really just a very versatile sculpted mid-boost.

If you're needing to add some additional saturation like with more moderate output pickups and/or lower gain amps then ask Wayne to do an Ice Scream clone!

forgot you had a Scythe .... I agree ... thing is awesome !!

I've thought about doing an Ice Scream ........ hmmmmm

One thing about the Ice Scream (speaking of his final version before his initial shutdown 2015ish) is that when placing the drive on 0 and using as a boost it lacks having additional output, kind-of in the same way an SD-! does, so like the SD-1 I tend to like adding just a smidget of drive to the signal to boost it's output just a hair, but when using a bit of drive on the Ice Scream it adds a little more noise than you'd get with using a standard 808/od9 in the same manner.

I did some research on it this morning ... looks like there's three versions ... Vanilla , Mint and Sherbet ... how fitting

I sent him a pedal I bought second hand for repairs. He quoted me 1-2 months and it took 5. Just a couple op amp replacements, but he followed through and covered return shipping with no charge on the repair. This was a few years ago so maybe his situation has changed, but he said he was pretty busy with teaching.

I don't understand how any builder can take orders they aren't 100% sure they can fill. If it's questionable, just be upfront about it and/or just start a wait list no money down so there is less expectation. Glad you got refunded.

Yeah my thing with any builders is if you find out you can't make a due date, especially by weeks or months you gotta communicate with the customer. That is the tradeoff.

Things happen and most people understand that. Just be honest about it and explain.
