I think that sounds phenomenal on the upper register and the regular strings, and not very good on the low strings.

Thank you so much for checking out my sound clip and commenting.
I've never played on one of these 8 strings before so I'm sure how I did for the first time.
I think I need a heavy gauge on the two lower strings.
Like maybe 80 (F#) and 70 (B) ?
and maybe raise the action on those two lower strings as well??

The amp sounds absolutely amazing and you are using good speakers. The problem I believe is that these amps and speakers are not designed for the frequencies that these guitars put out. It is bass register frequencies that they are just not designed to do. I hear this a lot in local bands who use the extended string tones and I know they are talented but their riffs just get lost, and I can totally understand why a lot of these guys who play 8 strings use Axe FX and such products. The amp sounds absolutely ripping though.

Maybe I'll try recording it next time with my Marshall 4x12 with an X pattern of Eminence Wizards and G12T-75's.
I had it out for band practice on Wednesday night with this setup and it sounded pretty damn good and cut really nice through the mix.
The band I play in is just like the size and sound of Tran Siberian Orchestra.

I honestly think g12-75s are better for this. I have a cab with the 75's in it and notice it sounds tighter. Please link me to the links for your band, I love that type of music, especially fitting in guitars in it. It is very powerful.

Yeah, please post the link once you get a website going. I'd love to hear that!

8-stringers honestly take some adjustment in both playing style and amplifier choice/EQ to get the best from them. This wasn't a suitable for the instrument, and you approached the instrument like a "normal" guitar, so the lows are undefined. It takes some time to get the hang of but you got good chop to works with.
