Picked this up this week and extremely happy with it despite the baseball neck one of the nicer Gibsons I’ve played in a long while. Had to swap some hardware and pickups as black and gold always looks cool and wasn’t a fan of how high output the old school invaders sound through my rig.

Was refinished by previous owner probably pretty close to new and was told played weekly in PNW before it came to AZ.

That's Macho !!!

That's just the right amount of mojo. Killer axe!! Congrats!! Those '80s Vs are awesome.

Awesome V

I’d love to find an all original early 80’s cream colored V, but they command so much money on the used market.

Congrats & Enjoy !!!!!!

Same only I lusted after a CMT - unfortunately the prices have gotten completely out of hand on them.

They're still one of my dream guitars, it's just now I'll probably never own one LOL

There are some really killer 80s explorers, too

I’ll probably never own an early 80’s V either at $7K .

I did score my ‘80 Gibson Cream Explorer new back in the day, and still have it.

I’m going to the grave with it.

Here’s a pic

This one is cream originally (peaking out a few spots) which made me consider stripping the gold but has been with this guitar so long I kind of can’t bring myself to do any mods that aren’t reversible
