I'm also glad i got to hear the Axe-Fx 2.........because i know now i don't want one.

I wish the axe-fx II sounded better...this way I could score an Ultra for cheap. Once people start getting the II's and start comparing, the word will be out that the Ultras sound just as good. I feel bad for the suckers that sold off their Ultras for big losses...nah I really don't.

Yeah the Ultra/Standard with the v.11 update sounds pretty damn good.

No not really. The altered album graphics look cool but the statement "The unmistakable sound of a generation" is kinda implying 65 amps were used on those classic recordings IMO.

u would have to be real new to the music world to think that being most of those albums were recorded in the 70's and 65 amps has been around for a few years or so. They just mean they make great rocknroll amps and love that stuff.

Saw, heard and played the Axe-fx II. It's was just plain okay to me. Nothing special Some great effects, but not worth $2,200...IMHO after playing it. I prefer tubes

Did anyone check out the 3 Monkeys booth?? THey have a new amp coming out too..."The Virgil" that should be pretty nice. There is currently an Orangutan at my local shop that is just bitchin!! These guys are local to me so I know it was a pretty good trek to Jersey for them to go...hopefully it was worth it.

On the Carol Ann, wow I bet Dave and Paul probably freeked some guys out and had them scrambling for the doors!! LOL Most Carol Ann owners are into quite a different tone and style than those 2 guys!! LOL I wanna say its the OD2 that is generally accepted as one of the best Dumble type amps out there...I would LOVE to snag one as I love the sound JB is getting out of them, but I cant swing the bucks on an amp right now...maybe next year.

65 amps had a more high gain, 3 channel switcher out now too called the Empire that is worth looking into also. If any of you guys have been tuning into his wednesday live broadcast on the web...it sounds VERY good.

I heard a demo of the new empire on I think premier guitar and was blown away at the tones. It sounds like it would make a killer rocknroll amp, not enough gain for death metal and such but sounds up my alley. Want to try one in person! Also, I heard what dave said about the new caroll ann triptik being pretty killer so while at the amp show on sunday I stopped in a few times to hear it but every time there were dudes waiting in like to jazz it up behind the next dude who also was jazzing away on the other models. Guess I will wait for some clips of the triptik.

Have not and no interest, heard 6547823142 clips and found nothing one of the 6754832 street knock-offs could not achive.

Plus it is the crowd that really does not interest me, those men are not my type.

Oh no doubt RT has it's own circle jerks, but that perpetual thread those fanboi's on TGP keep bumping over there advertises/markets/exposes him to a larger audience than ever would be achieved here imo. One of the best shill promotion efforts I've ever seen actually.
