Dudes this amp is an ass kicking rock amp it is NOT a fucking Dumble, go listen to the clips if you think that's a Dumble I give up, this place is a free advertising haven for many brands, several of them I own and would not have know about them were it not for RT, not sure what your point is there are as many high gain amp circle jerks on here as well. RT is my favorite of these types of forums because usually people are not this stupid, hope that does not change.

Thank God it's not a fuckin Doomble. Who the hell wants to pay $40,000 just to get street credit on TGP.

When they have ampfests among TGP folks they often fight over handicap parking privileges.

TGP, where there's more grey hair than long hair.

TGP, where Eddie Van Halen is still considered a young wise ass punk.

TGP, where amps are judged first on their clean channel......

TGP, where Eric Clapton is considered a shredder.

TGP, where the only dick that can get excited is when the Axe-2..............maybe i shouldn't go there. :D

Here is a link to the clips I did with the prototype Triptik, the amp we are actually talking about, like em/hate em, whatever, they do not resemble anything in the Dumble camp.
Of course I doubt the dumble hater guy has every played a dumble or a carol ann, I have and they are both amazing amps.

http://www.carolannamps.com/sounds.htm

Sounds great

Not sure what you mean by shill, he builds amazing amps, and people dig them, is that different then the Cameron threads here ? So you blame the amp builder for his popularity on the Gear Page ? or for building an amp the RT crowd would dig ? The OP started the thread on the Carol Ann being the highlight of the amp show, are you saying he is a Gear Page shiller ? I think we know the answer to that ......
Either way man if the amp works for you great if it doesn't that's cool too but maybe hear it/try before you make that judgement.

Oh no doubt RT has it's own circle jerks, but that perpetual thread those fanboi's on TGP keep bumping over there advertises/markets/exposes him to a larger audience than ever would be achieved here imo. One of the best shill promotion efforts I've ever seen actually.[/quote]

Internet is serious business!

It's all just entertainment to me.

I think your thinking too much in to this, Alan is pretty respected here and far more so than the other builders on TGP. Would love to own one of his amps myself and he is one of the only local guys to me I would trust with a vintage marshall if he had the time.

He makes a great amp and seems to be a very cool guy as well.

TOTALLY AGREE!! Alan seems like a great guy! ANd he builds a killer amp. Its not his fault as to what amps his are compared to. I think its great that these smaller companies are now breaking away from the vintage crowd to build harder rock oriented amps...its just more WIN for us.

When I was talking to Paul about his and Daves trip to the amp show...he is the one who was COMPLETELY floored by the CA amp...and we both thought it was hilarious that while they were playing it I guess all the vintage jazzy guys kinda left the room, but that Alan was happy as hell, saying that was what he built that amp for.

The 1st time I saw Alan play, before I knew him, his set up was a real plexi marshall, a few boss pedals he modded into a 4-12 and a PRS. It was crushingly loud, and sounded killer, he is coming way more from a rig talk perspective than a gear page one LOL !!! He also modded my 73 marshall and it is the best hot rodded marshall I have heard/owned (the list is long), the coolest part is he used only 3 preamp tubes in that mod so while it is gained out it is also very dynamic and punchy as hell. It is cool to see him start to get some props for the ballsy high gain rock thing.

Ha Ha, Rig Talk has gone Dumble clone. Knew it was inevitable.

The following is not solelt aimed towards the comment above, but just the whole lack of respect on this thread. I don't expect respect out the gate, but do expect not to be disrespected.

If you think the amp is a Dumble clone then DUMB is a very operative word !!! I'll happily put it up against any of your modded Marshalls. I'm from england dude, I was modding Marshalls in the early 80's because thats what we had to do for real...not because people on here pay $3500 for one and they have become suddenly 'trendy'. We did it because there was nothing else. Actually I saw as many Parks as Marshalls because I am from the North of England.

I'm in business building amps. To be prejudice against any type of persona, musical style, ability or lack thereof is of no interest to me and is no interest to my business either. I think you will find the same response from any amp builder, if they have an ounce of business savvy that is.

I don't care if people hang out on TGP, friggin HC or here, neither do I care if they are rock stars or can only play in their music room before the kids go to bed, neither do I care if they are Dentists, Doctors, Lawyers, <add any other cliche you wish> or they are full time musicians.

If you want to try the amp, then try it and if you don't like it, then fine, I totally accept whatever criticism you have, but if you want to make judgements about me or my products before you even try one, then what can I say ?

I've owned 54 Marshalls including 24 from the Plexi era. I have a fetish for '73 50W JMP's for some reason ......yet...I've worked on 5 Dumbles but I've worked on probably 2000-3000 Marshalls in the last 25 years. Does that 'gain' me admission in to your club ?

Clearly.....I'm not a STFU sort of builder and clearly I detest the dumble association. I've never built a dumble clone in my life, nor would I want to. I don't even really like them. I sound awful through a dumble. THat doesn't mean he didn't come up with some great circuit concepts and methodologies. For that he has my respect anf yes, sure I learned some things from them.

I actually don't know whats worse the snobbery on TGP or the abrassiveness on here. both places have decent people and dickheads, thats life.

But,But.....You can gain all the knowledge you need on any amp so long as there are at least 3 youtube clips of any given amp. You listen to them 4 or 5 times and foobam!! You are qualified and in the know enough to pass judgement and compare one amp to another..Sheesh Alan!! you should know this by now!!!

Wrong answer, would you like to go for double jepardy?

RT member with his CA,

CA is Rawk and many men here will agree with me.

Its Rock, Its Blues, its a LOT of things...without a doubt!! I love the sound Bonamassa is getting out of it...there is a vid floating around if it...

Alan, when are they gonna start attriculating down to dealers?? I was in a local dealer today and asked if they knew anything about them....big nada...and they are usually pretty much "in the know"

I sent the info around the Dealers yesterday. Most have added the Triptik to their orders. You will start seeing them hit the shops from around 4 weeks from now.

Dave,
I was thinking the same thing. LOL... I felt like I lost 20 pounds walking out of there. whats up Alan? let me just say the triptik is KILLER. You have my attention with this amp. I made a few calls to stores for pricing on a 100 watter. seems like no dealer is really sure about it yet. Im really thinking about getting one. I would of loved to have heard it through a 4x12. Keep up the killer work. I sent you an e mail. Please get back to me with info on the triptik.

Looong story behind that. That is the name Mr. Dumble, TAG, from TGP gave me. If you look it is a Dumble styled amp. Looking at my amp list you see where I stand on this. I have a Dumble styled preamp....Soooo....I just think it is funny to see the Dumble thing leak over here now....I come here to get away from that...
